(Reuters) - Astronomers have spotted an exotic planet that seems to be made of diamond racing around a tiny star in our galactic backyard.

The new planet is far denser than any other known so far and consists largely of carbon. Because it is so dense, scientists calculate the carbon must be crystalline, so a large part of this strange world will effectively be diamond.

"The evolutionary history and amazing density of the planet all suggest it is comprised of carbon -- i.e. a massive diamond orbiting a neutron star every two hours in an orbit so tight it would fit inside our own Sun," said Matthew Bailes of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne.

but you can certainly hope for Imperialistic power to just go up there and leave oil rich countries alone !!  May be then we can fight for our democratic rights and get rid of our own little devilish dictators with our own hands...

By the way, the mullas from Iran can join them as well ..... after all there are plenty shining diamonds for everyone ....  They can build a dome of rock up there .. and at the same time Jewish rabbis can build the Solomon wall/ palace/ kingdom whatever up there as well ... all with pure diamond.  and if they want more they can fight it up there.....  but at least they are going to leave the rest of us on planet earth alone and in peace and in harmony ...
