Two drug smugglers hanged in Iran

TEHRAN — Two convicted drug traffickers were hanged on Saturday in a prison in the northern city of Sari, the ISNA news agency reported.

The report did not identify either of those executed.

The latest hangings bring to 186 the number of executions reported in Iran so far this year, according to an AFP tally based on media and official reports.

Iranian media reported 179 hangings last year but international human rights groups say the actual number was much higher, ranking the Islamic republic second only to China in the number of people it executed in 2010.

Tehran says the death penalty is essential to maintain law and order, and that it is applied only after exhaustive judicial proceedings.

Murder, rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking and adultery are among the crimes punishable by death in Iran.

"Drug smugglers"!!!!

1) The islamist regime routinely hangs it's political opponenets on fabricated charges of "Drug smuggling".

2) Ask any Iranian inside Iran and they'll tell you that IRCG controlls and owns the entire norcotics business in Iran.  So how about hanging a few of the IRCG commanding kingpins to start with!

So homosexuality, drug trafficking and adultery are punishable by death! If there is God lets hope anyone who had a hand in murdering these people will get their just deserts in hell.

Once you have explored your own problems with your counsellor maybe you can reflect on the catastrophe your 'Great Revolution' brought on Iran before you cut and run.
