Israel would prefer the U.S. to lead an attack on Iran instead of facing it alone.

Tom Donilon, You Don't Need the Money - Quit!
by Dan Huck on Mon Jul 16, 2012 10:42 AM PDTWe Americans have always been a go along to get along society; we have always bent over backwards to be accommodating. Somebody once said you can tell a person's, or a nation's, bad points by their good points. Personally, I think it's a good thing we have tried to see the other guy's point, and frequently we have bent our laws and customs as well as our personal viewpoints. Many of us feel democracy demands us to be compliant.
As a young Catholic student I was compliant in general to the apparent rules and regulations of Catholicism, while at the same time going through a process of disenchantment with many aspects of that faith. One aspect which impinged slightly was an awareness there was a List of Forbidden Books. Edward Gibbon's "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" was on it. Oh, well, no big deal, it was voluminous, with small print , challenging language, ideas and vocabulary. Because it was forbidden, however, I was curious, naturally! Later on, as a young adult I learned it was considered one of the most important and valuable books in the history of mankind, even today, however, most especially at the time the founders of our republic were getting their education, and trying to think through founding principles for our nation. Of course I have read it, and am thankful I did. The history of a people and a nation have many important source documents; perhaps children should not read some of them, but those who would be citizens owe it to themselves to look into things deeply, and not be swayed by those who would dictate our reading or thinking to us.
Along these lines, for many years, I have had an internal revulsion towards what I guess we would call 'hate' literature, and felt to even look at it was behavior contrary to the kind of person I think I am.
So I was led, kicking and complaining as a normal brain-washed person, by my rational self, by John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Alexander Hamilton not just to the 'Decline…", but to a dispassionate reading of Henry Ford's book about international finance and the international Jew. He wrote it for the benefit of ordinary American Jews as well as for Christian Americans. It's available as a free ebook online at <//www.gutenberg.org/catalog/world/readfile?fk_files=2252169>.
What can I say? It's mind boggling to see the effectiveness and organization of an apparent upper tier of Jewish leaders accomplishing their agenda by special interest lobbying, threats to Presidents (!), the whole smear. Also, the efficient efforts to keep the ordinary Jew in line are instructive. Ford documents things back into the late 1800's!
America doesn't have a problem with the 'bad guys', we come down on them hard and fast; we have a problem with the 'good guys'. However, some good guys are not really even honest, let alone good. But to Soosan's point, inappropriate compliancy on our part is shameful behavior - far less understandable and defendable for mature adults and leaders of a country than it might be for a child with an unwanted hand on it's knee.
So Likud leadership of Israel and your fellow travelers here, get your inappropriate and lying fear-mongering of Iran out of our face, and get your hands out of our pockets!
As the saying goes . . .

Same old Israel !!
by Soosan Khanoom on Sun Jul 15, 2012 08:34 PM PDTIsrael did the same in 60s.... A pre-emptive attack that trigger the six days war. It seems that every one including the historians has short memory. I am not sure , should we say, Shame on IsraHell !! or should we say, fool me once shame on you.... fool me twice shame on me ....
" The Six-Day War "
After a period of tension between Israel and its neighbors, the war began on June 5 with Israel launching surprise bombing raids against Egyptian air-fields. Within six days, Israel had won a decisive land war. Israeli forces had taken effective control of the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria.
Mollycoddled Israel Seeks Pre, Pre-Emptive Humanitarian Attack
by Dan Huck on Sun Jul 15, 2012 08:21 PM PDTBreaking News!
Israel calls for humanitarian pre, pre-emptive attack on Iran's (non-existent?) nuclear weaponization program, as well as their nuclear power program, (which Israel refuses to consider tolerating, due to the possibility the peaceful, legal, under-IAEA-oversight program produces nuclear materials which possibly could be diverted to weaponization uses if the IAEA loses track of the materials it is monitoring).
Israel is insisting for obvious humanitarian reasons the US put this attack on our agenda quickly, because they are concerned otherwise, the US and themselves will have to wage a full scale war of annihilation on Iran, and that may have devastating consequences not just for the annihilated population of Iran, but up to 500 Israelis could be killed, according to Defense Minister Barak.
Tom Donilon, did you ever get the idea Israel's approach to neighborhood relations as exemplified in this report by Gil Ronen of Arutz Sheva can no longer be mollycoddled?
