Trita Parsi has some explaining to do. The Iranian-born and Swedish-raised president of the National Iranian American Council is perhaps the most outspoken advocate for engagement with the Islamist regime in Tehran. If that posture has won him praise in certain foreign policy circles, this may be an uncomfortable moment for some of Parsi’s fans. Last Friday, a U.S. district court ruling lent some credence to the charge that Parsi is an agent of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The court dismissed Parsi’s argument that his rare criticisms of the Iranian regime rendered Daioleslam’s claims malicious and, therefore, defamatory. “Many of the statements listed in Parsi’s affidavit are not strongly anti-regime,” the court said. “That Parsi occasionally made statements reflecting a balanced, shared blame approach is not inconsistent with the idea that he was first and foremost an advocate for the regime.”
“Given the other evidence defendant amassed to support [Daioleslam’s] views, the Court sees no ‘actual malice’ in defendant’s decision to disregard occasional contrary statements and assume that they were made largely to burnish Parsi and NIAC’s image in the United States. After all, any moderately intelligent agent for the Iranian regime would not want to be seen as unremittingly pro-regime, given the regime’s reputation in the United States.”

Thanks Faramarz Jaan for the info!
by Oon Yaroo on Tue Sep 18, 2012 03:58 PM PDTUnfortunately, Iranians have been suffering more from their own side than the so-called fabricated enemies (e.g., US, Israel, etc.) the IRR regime has been concocting over the past 34 years.
This rude effing... tweet statement by Hooman Majd speaks more volumes on his own ***ni GQ character than the brave and patriotic Mrs. Nazanin Afshin-Jam.
I think the time is right for and all out war by all the decent and patriotic Iranians to do their utmost in exposing all these regime's agents around the world including this garbage:

and this garbage

I would love to hear Karim Sadjadpour's two cents on the TP fiasco!?

by Faramarz on Tue Sep 18, 2012 03:31 PM PDTAccording to Peter Kohanloo, an Iranian activist, here is what Hooman Majd tweeted about Nazanin Afshin-Jam, a human rights advocate and an Iranian-Canadian married to Defense Minister Peter McKay who said the embassy “uses cultural events as an excuse to spread their own propaganda” and “does not represent our voices.”
U.S. Iranian-American writer Hooman Majd took direct aim at her in his
Twitter account. “Fucking a Canadian minister doesn’t make you a
Canadian, my dear,” he wrote. “Come back to papa.” (The tweet has since
been taken down.) Echoing the Iranian cultural counsellor, Majd
assaulted her identity as a Canadian and ridiculed her loyalty to her
adopted homeland.
Naturally, she became a victim of vicious attacks from pro-Tehran quarters for her principled stance against Iran’s theocratic despots.
This case should put Hooman Majd et al on notice ....

by Faramarz on Tue Sep 18, 2012 10:58 AM PDTHe said that the laptop was stolen and he was no longer in its position!
I believe that such comments and declarations generally weakens you in front of a judge and they will make you pay for it at the sentencing time. In this case, he is told to pay a portion of Dai's legal expenses which is in $100,000's range.
It will be interesting to see if they stay in business or bail out!
Dai will talk to Mr. Maybodi again.

Khamenie's personal state agent
by vildemose on Tue Sep 18, 2012 10:23 AM PDTDai also described how Trita, fresh-off-the-boat from Sweden and without a green card got a job with Congressman Ney (the right wing Republican and a buddy of famous lobbyist Jack Abramoff who along with Ney did some jail time).
According to Dai, the Congressman was trying to arrange for the sale of a custom-built Airbus belonging to the Sultan of Brunei to the Regime for the personal use by Khamenei at the cost of $120 million. The only obstacle in the way of the sale and the subsequent commissions to the Congressman and the gang was the sanctions and that's where the Regime Lobby came into the picture.
You see, lifting the sanctions on Boing and Airbus sales and spare parts had more to do with luxury planes' sale to the Regime and Sepah than to improve the safety of civil aviations in Iran.
Fascinating stuff!

Maybodi interviewed Hassan Dai
by Faramarz on Tue Sep 18, 2012 09:12 AM PDTHassan Dai was interviewed by Mr. Maybodi on Pars TV yesterday and made several comments about his findings after the court gave him the opportunity for a "discovery process" of NIAC emails.
Right off the bat, NIAC did not turn over Trita's laptop. He claimed that it was stolen from his hotel room! They gave him another computer which after the analysis at a lab, turned out to be someone else's computer.
What Dai was after was Trita's Outlook calendar that would've shown the schedule of his meetings with folks.
