Bio
Siamack's parents emigrated to the UK from Iran in 1963 and
he was born in Chelmsford (Essex) in 1965 in the same hospital
at which his father was a doctor. In all, he has spent four years
of his life in Iran, mostly attending the American Community
School. His last visit, with his parents, was between 1975 and
1977.
He studied Industrial Design and Engineering at Bristol before
moving to London to find work in 1988. His first job as a junior
product designer lasted 12 months before he was politely asked
to leave and find himself another career. Since that time he
has specialised in observational research - ranging from living
with households to see how products and brands fit into their
lives to observing their shopping behaviour. His work has taken
him to the US, South America, Asia Pacific and, of course, most
of Western and Central Europe. He is also a founding partner
and Director of Everydaylives International, a web based knowledge
sharing resource.
Siamack has also been a resident expert on various TV documentaries
and news programmes (C4, Discovery, BBC and ITN) including 'Shop
'til you drop' and 'ITN News'. He has enjoyed writing since he
was a child but harbours no ambitions as an author. All his essays
are autobigraphical, self indulgent and 'for fun'.
He has been Married to, Varinder, the love of his life since
October 1999. They have no children yet. Top
