Cover story  Write for The Iranian Laleh Zahedi Born in Tehran, Iran in 1971, Zahedi studied photography at the University of California at Davis and currently lives in San Francisco, California. "The images I take on a literal level, stand as documentation of the people who pass before my eyes, " she says. "These individuals, robbed of their identity, ultimately serve to fulfill my urge to make tangible my sight and my existence. Therefore, it may be safely concluded that my photography is a purely selfish act."
