Paradise" at the opening night of New York International Independent

The AIC Noruz festivities begin with a conference on the 107th Congress
and Iran. AIC has received a greetings statement from President Bush for
the Nowruz celebration. The speakers this year include Ambassador Hadi

* Student leader speaking in Wshington DC
A member of the National Coalition of Iranian Students and Alumni, Mr.
Gholam-Reza Mohajeri-Nejad will speak about the current political situation
in Iran [See
interview]. He is one of the leaders of the student movement and was
involved in the demonstrations at Tehran University in July 1999 which
led to the arrest and imprisonment of many of his colleagues. He was torutured
and imprisoned for six months by the Islamic regime. Mr. Mohajeri-Nejad
has been touring and lecturing throughout the U.S. eversince his departure
from Iran. He is currently in Washington, D.C. He will announce an important
decision on the part of the student movement which will affect the status
of the opposition movement abroad. We hope all members of the press will
attend this very crucial press conference.

the US of Iranian post-revolutionary films (curated by Hamid Naficy), that
nation's cinema has cemented its reputation as one of the world's most

When I took on heading the project of supporting the Iranian refugees
in the Washington area, it was because no one else volunteered. The next
day it hit me how perfect our decision was to support this group as an
