When I finished college, I went back to live in Tehran. My parents' home was in Niavaran, but I wanted a different view of the city. My first apartment of my own was on Eshratabad Street. As a young Iranian-American woman who barely spoke Persian, I raised a few eyebrows at first. But little by little I made friends with my neighbors. The camera helped break the ice.
