The Case for an Iranian Nuclear Weapon

Share/Save/Bookmark

Our National Interest
by vatan_doost
16-Aug-2010

Threats of preemptive attack on Iran with conventional and nuclear weapons are made with greater frequency by officials at the highest levels of government in Israel and the United States. American and Israeli media are filled with growing evidence of racism toward the Persian race by reinforcing a picture of Iranians as sub-humans. One can not avoid the ugly telltale signs of the coming war when doing a simple web-search of news these days. It is obvious the Western public opinion is being prepared to do harm to Iranian people.

Whether the impending genocide of Iranians is justified in the name of protecting Israeli and American national interests is no longer relevant. The recent US national intelligence declaration made it clear that Iran is not pursuing a nuclear weapon. But the facts do not make any difference to the powerful Israeli lobby who calls the shots for the United States. This is the same Israeli interest lobby that helped shape the war with Iraq on false pretenses and now works to check the strategic power of Iran in the Middle East by coaxing the US to once again do its dirty business.

Why the US presidents or presidential contenders have to declare their unchecked allegiance to the protection of Israel before each election and throughout their tenure is no mystery to the author. For skeptics, a web search of “American Israeli Public Affairs Committee” proceedings should open some eyes. At the same time, no one in their right mind can have a public discourse on the topic of US policy toward Israel. As taboo subjects go, this is the proverbial apple which will banish anyone who dares speak from heaven of American political elites. Israel does and says what it wants and US politicians will find a way to deliver in their own time and with very few questions asked.

The famous conservative thinker, Jeffrey Goldberg's recently published "Time to murder the filthy Persians" stating his mistaken ideas about Iranian motivations and the imperative for attaching Iran. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Mike Mullen alluded to the Iran attack plans being made ready by the US. Israeli media are filled with predictions and declarations of imminent war. Israel is conducting civil defense exercises to prepare for conflict. Turkey, and Brazil have stepped up their desperate efforts to prevent a disastrous war. Even Fidel Castro has risen from his death bed to warn Iranians of the Armageddon about to come. There are too many signs for any sane person to ignore.

Drawing parallels with the experience of Pakistan, India and Israel itself, Iran has no other choice but to pursue the ultimate weapon. Judging by the results, going nuclear in each case provides the ultimate safety net against existential threats now being made by the usual suspects. Bullies and hegemons including Israel and the G5 understand the implications of a nuclear counter strike and normally stop their threats and murderous plots by finally “taking some options off the table”. US is actually giving Pakistan financial and military support as it plots against the US interests in the region. India is the recipient of the most advanced Plutonium reactor technology used for accelerated weapons production.. And no one has to explain what Israel enjoys in status and support among the hypocrites. Meanwhile the Russian “prostitutes” are busy peddling the goods to the highest bidder never sure to actually deliver what they appear to be selling.

For Iranians of every color and creed, this is no longer a case of Mullah against the people. Whether you are for or against the Arab Regime, its Bedouin religion or its barbaric ways, it is irrelevant. There is an Iran separate and distinct from the Mullah-Arab Regime same as there is an Iranian identity completely separate and distinct from the Islamic identity. Putting aside differences, all should prepare to fight for Iran and its unique Iranian culture. Those who love Iran and its people should unite around the Regime and prepare for the imminent outbreak of hostilities against the people. Skilled and capable expats should do whatever they can to help Iran build and deploy its nuclear weapon in the shortest time possible.

This is where Mullahs may make a lethal error by actually doing what they publicly claim; that is keeping the objectives of their nuclear program solely for peaceful purposes. This would be an error of existential proportions that can not be remedied in a short few months to come. Only if the world could realize that the ouster of the cancer that grows in Iran is the sole responsibility of Iranians.

The Green movement and the brave sacrifices of so many Iranians came about immediately after the threat of foreign hostility was eased for a brief period. Just as immediately, the heroes will rise again to set Iran straight once the threat of vampires, hyenas and racist colonialists is completely removed. This is the history of Iranian people who have fought bravely to preserve the ancient nation and its unique culture against so many conquerors and marauders.

Let us all be vigilant and unified in the support of Iran and its current Regime until the threats are nullified. Let us prepare to defend and revenge Iran against its mortal enemies. And let us remind those who do harm to Iran of our intentions just as “Caesar's spirit, raging for revenge, with Ate by his side come hot from hell, shall in these confines with a monarch's voice cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war, that this foul deed shall smell above the earth with carrion men, groaning for burial.’

I agree entirely with the author

by mamadali on

Regardless, of your position with regard to the IRI, you can't but not agree with the author.  It is interesting than even under this particular context the mouth pieces of the foreigner are here yet again spewing their hatred of Iranians and Iran under the guise of rejecting the IRI/mullahs/whatever.  One of these mouthpieces went so far to say that a bomb would be sooner used by the IRI on Iranians and Iran.  I am sure, regardless of your positions, the true patriots can easily see through these vatan foroosh (at worst) or foreign plants (at best).

Begone avtan foroosh/farangi!

These  tricks of:

This garbage is so unoriginal it does not work. None of us are so stupid to fall for it.

Long Live Vatan_Doost and His Dissenters Alike

by Parsagarda on

It is encouraging for me to read so many true patriots in this column. It is the Iranian way to dissent and disagree. This same spirit of outspoken expression and independent thinking is what overcame the Islamic onslaught of our culture post 7th century and then again in the decades to come. Iranians are simply too independent minded to give in to Mullahs and other form of “hemar” and religious mambo-jumbo you see and read here some times.

If you really read what Vatan_Doost is saying, you can’t argue that he is a mullah lover. He seems neither afraid of Pashmallo mullahs nor their religious “khorafat”. He actually sounds like a true patriot asking us to stand up and defend Iran and Iranians among whom a few bad apples and maggots are hiding. In time, we will cleanse ourselves of these parasites but for now, we need to protect the body otherwise there will be nothing there but a bombed out moonscape like Afghanistan and a broken people, raped, beaten and plundered like the Iraqi populace.

How these Amerisraeli freedom loving, democracy pushing, forever self-righteous hypocrites go to the wall or the church every Sunday and talk about turning the other cheek, beats me!

What is Iran after all? Is it nowrooze, deedo bazdeed, seezdehbedar, charshanbesoori, mehmoon navazy, raghso avaz. Its baba and maman, khale and dayee. These are worth defending no matter what your political/religious views may be.

I think Islamic religious views being used by Mullhas to choke us should be kept private and at home as non-Iranian ideas some of our people hold dear (like some who privately fanaticize about Boy George but don’t necessarily use that to run a country). So lets put our dissent aside on for a few weeks. Lets unite to fight off the serial killers, and later when our homeland is safe again, lets clean up the parasite and put religion back into the basement. Lets bring tolerance back to our dissent and unite against our mortal enemies now. Amen!!

While I disagree with some

While I disagree with some of the language the author uses in this piece, I'm more than a little amused by the reactions offered by this site's perennial anti-Iran cheerleaders.

Q

oh really? I "shall be ignored"

by Q on

Just a tad too biblical isn't it? Quite a healthy ego without the slightest pretense of objectivity.

No one needs to accept your word about what my "purpose" is on this site. You can read below about who is "picking fights" and "calling people names." I didn't call you anything, and responded to your comment in a perfectly rational way and you flagged me, clearly abusing the system for your own agenda.

That's your idea of "ignoring" ? Or is it because it gives your life meaning?

Onlyiran

people names.  Perhaps it gives meaning to your life.  In any event, that is why you are being, and you shall be, ignored.

Thanks for revealing yourself. I always wonder which advocate of "freedom of speech" flags that speech they don't approve of.

In your anger and certainly as a result of having gone crosseyed with hatred, you must have flagged my comment while I was still editing it. You can edit comments so long as they have not been replied to.

Onlyiran

JJ - Why is it that some people can edit flagged comments?

by Onlyiran on

I thought that once a comment once flagged, it could not be edited.  But it appears that the user below me was able to go back and clean up his abusive and profanity laden comment after it was flagged?  Do some users have special privileges?  Just wondering...

Q

you make a lot of sense (which is why you are getting attacked)

by Q on

the neofascists, who can't use reason and logic, quickly descend down to personal attacks and irrelevant BS to divert attention.

Rest assured that the great majority of Iranians are reading this and appreciate your concern. We are all concerned. At a time when our house is about to get bombed, idiots who are well outside the danger zone but claim the "real" problem is inside the house are simply aiding the bombers, but don't want to say so. It's that simple.

Fred: I noticed your typical nonsequitor attack on Brian, no doubt because you can't produce any reason or logic and have to compensate by attacking NIAC/CASMII that have for whatever reason decided not to answer your "AIPAC-loves-Iranians" BS propaganda.

But let me use some of your own BS to show that YOu, Fred are an Islamist stooge.

You are writing for a website started by a Hezbollahi (Editor) and operated by a board member of CASMII (Engineer), in fact making ad money for it by writing. If you had any shame or sense of self-reflection you wouldn't be aiding and abetting IRI, by your own definition.

But we all know what kind of a mindless hypocrite you really are.

OnlyIran: you really don't understand much at all. The "threats" are not "neverending". After the Iraq war but Before 9/11 there were comparitively little threat to Iran which gave rise to the Khatami-led reform movement. This movement suffered greatly thanks to the threats of the Bush Administration. After Bush left, there was a small window where people once again, thought reduced threats from America would allow them to concentrate on their own lives and freedom. But that has now been killed again by the Neocons and Israel, including their notable cheerleaders here on IC.

Support Iran=of course, support the regime=no way

by Onlyiran on

Let us all be vigilant and unified in the support of Iran and its current Regime until the threats are nullified.”

Nice attempt of relating the wretched IR to Iran.  It is a clever tactic because the "threat" or threats are, of course, never ending, and thus, we should support the IR forever.  Otherwise, we are anti Iranian Israeli agents who want Iran bombed. :-)

Look, you (and the IRI) are not the first ones (and won't be the last ones) in history who have used this tactic.  Hell, even George W. Bush tried to use it.  After all, patriotism is the last refuge of all scoundrels.

We are all against an attack on Iran by any nation.  AND we are also against the biggest current abuser of Iranians' rights and dignity: the IRI.  So, go sell your manufactured patriotism (which seems to be IRI's newest M.O.) and your propaganda somewhere else. Khodeti. :-)

Niloufar Parsi

vatan doost

by Niloufar Parsi on

we obviously have no shortage of vatan foroosh in this place!

i am convinced that most iranians are with you. how could we not?

but you know, there is a whole different side to this war issue. i have no doubt that it has nothing at all to do with the nature of the state in iran. american foreign policy has been atrocious since it emerged as a super power at the end of WWII. one war after another, constantly in search of an enemy. always finding some 'hitler' somewhere, and then sometimes even saying 'oops' there were no nuclear weapons, but then going on to say let's bomb another country that obviously has no such weapons.

so whatever people think of the system in iran, iranians have been pretty savvy at identifying and outsmarting their main foreign enemies. if they hadn't, perhaps iran might have turned into iraq [bombed back 50 years] already. if afghanistan actually had a hand in 9/11, iraq for sure didn't. it had already suffered a defeat in war and gone through heartless sanctions causing astonishing number of deaths and severe damage to her economy and infrastructure. from cuba to korea, from the 1950s to tomorrow, there's been and will be one war after another.

this violent form of power projection is fascistic in style. it is by no means 'necessary'. the 'necessary' argument is designed by the guilty to appease the conscience of the guilty. it is a statement of abject failure of imagination. folly confused with foreign policy.

this form of power means to maintain hegemony in the world, and anyone who makes waves is put down. now that the world economy is changing, a more conciliatory approach would be more rational. but there is no hint of that happening yet.

they continued bombing pakistan even in the middle of the floods. this is predator behaviour, and you don't turn your back on a predator. iran's approach has been both radical and rational. the radical part is unfortunate. but if a country means to grow in power it has to also be rational and build up its defences when faced with a global predator together with a regional, nuclear-armed threat. a particularly trigger-happy one at that.

those who divert attention from amerisraeli - for they are one - warmongering and blame iranian radicalism for the war threats are in fact engaged in misdirection and deception, in my view.

Didn't read your blog "vatan-whatever", just the punch-line above, told me what kind of entity you are and who finances your existance.

Dear vatan_doost

by Abarmard on

Your reasoning is correct.  The largest majority of Iranians would care about Iranian soil and borders before a system in place. Then if attacked, we all would unite for Iran, no doubt about that.

You are correct again to promote uniting before attack. That would be much wiser, and based on increasing NIAC membership, I believe that majority of Iranians in the US are united for Iran.

Thank you for your patriotic piece.

Wake Up Vatan Doost

by masoudA on

Throughout our history we have been governed by non-Iranians on many occasions - but we have seldom had a government responsible for so many Iranian casualties and for such decay on our culture and way of life.   Take a break and go back and read what I said once more buddy.   If the mullahs get the bomb they will use it on Tehran and Shiraz long before they use it on Tel Aviv.......wake up.

Samer Srouji

don´t be fooled, no one will help

by Samer Srouji on

just remember, in the Middle East, no one will come to your help. In the summer of 2006, I happened to be out of Lebanon, while my family was over there. Israel bombed infrastructure, civilian buildings and economic infrastructure (our largest dairy factory), many many civilians (from both muslim and christian communities) died, and no one in the world stood up to say halt. 34 days, watching your country which was being rebuilt and reuniting, bombed relentlessly while the world stood by!

The Arab countries waited and watched, there were a few protests here and there, and then later they gave us some money for reconstruction. But no one lifted a finger to actually stop or oppose Israel. My brother managed to make it to Syria then Jordan by road, highly risky as Israeli warplanes would target cars on these roads randomly. And in Jordan, he was interrogated by suspicious officials for leaving Lebanon, such was the show of solidarity with our people from "brotherly" Arab countries. Ha!

So my friends it is every man (and woman) for themselves. Iranians you are well educated, and you have many prominent and wealthy people in the United States and Europe, much more than us. You can lobby and use your influence to oppose this pressure for war. If there is a strong Jewish lobby, I am sure you can build a counterweight, especially in the US. Just don´t expect help from anyone, no one cares, neither the Arabs nor the Western countries. I am not sure about Asia.

And complaining about it on IC does not helped either, you will be labelled as an IRI crony, Arab or Zionist. I am apparently an Arab; so just let me know if I am an IRI crony today or a Zionist, it will brighten my day!

Seems to me you are quite worried about regime than Iranian people and let me re issure you that there would be no war or any attackes what so ever and the reason is all western and others enjoying the free and discounted transaction that they have and so sleep well. all these are to sell us 10 times the value of their goods and to buy our oil 10 times less than market value and to keep this govenment in power because with free Iran and educated people managing the country and democratic country western powers will have no excuses left for them to milk us for free. there is no iranain culture left and it has been destroyed from last 31 years and even these are not the same iranian as were 3 decades ago and Iranian people no longer know what really want khorma ya khoda and at this moment they want khorma in the name of khoda and If you think our people were paying attention to their culture or nationality and they were really would of done some thing long time ago, there is no govenment could control the nation unless the nation is corrupt and don't give a hell about freedom and all they care is khorma. so don't get touchy and you don't need to advocate the nationalism shamefully to support the tyrant regime.this regime is destroying the country and every thing that reminds their culture and being Iranain and If there is a day some one like you to advocate for free iran and peace then you will have my support.

Fred, who was this member? Was it Rostam Pourzal? Pourzal is on CASMII's Board of Directors and has previously served as an IRI-approved "tour guide" and coordinator for "leftish" dimwits who have visited the IRI on propaganda "tours".

  • Do not now or ever regaard the Islamist regime and Iran as one. The Islamist regime is the greatest enemy of Iran.
  • Brian: you don't know what you are talking about. The Islamist regime is inviting an attack with its actions. You are such a fan of them. Why don't you go move there? “Let us all be vigilant and unified in the support of Iran and its current Regime until the threats are nullified.”

To bunch up Iran and the “regime” which is the most Anti-Iran and Iranian entity in a longtime together and asking for “unity” to support it is cute, very cute.

And citing the Islamist Green Movement which is asking for preservation of the regime, its constitution and veneration of its mass murderer “Imam” Khomeini as the fruit of such cute request is also, well, cute.
