On June 12, 2011, to mark two years since Iran's disputed election, United4Iran and Move4Iran coordinated a flash mob in a Paris metro station to draw attention to the ongoing human rights abuses Iran's citizens continue to face. The flashmob's intent was to highlight sustained international support for the Iranian people and to encourage individuals worldwide, who are lucky enough to be afforded basic freedoms, to recommit support for Iran's civil rights movement.

The 'Truth' Narrow Way!
by Demo on Tue Jun 14, 2011 08:37 AM PDTLeaving one's sentiment judgment with the 'Supreme Judge,' let's also leave the 'Holiness' or the 'Satanic' aspect of any writings with the upcoming 'Supreme Court' of the universe! Shall we, please?
The Quran itself by the way never ever calls itself 'Holy' and its focal point is around the following verse for its 'Thoughtful' readers:
"And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of
hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into
(on the day of reckoning). (17:36)"
PS: Even became more thankful of my 'Creator' on the indicated date for honoring me the 'insight' to know about the 'mob' like mentality of the regime in our motherland & for the games it plays to 'entrap' its real opponents by such 'mock' protests either in Tehran or in Paris by some 'Greenish' clowns!

by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Tue Jun 14, 2011 07:27 AM PDTsentiments on the people that protest IR is sure the same as lying lackeys of IR.
And, you might as well throw that filth known as your "Holy Book" down WC while you're at it. To find out it's origins and true nature, read Satanic Verses, especially the commentary by Sadegh Abdol Azim on it.
P.S. What did you do on June12th to protest two years of ( on top of 32 years of) murder, rape, and tyranny in Iran?
Flush the Brainless Mob
by Demo on Tue Jun 14, 2011 06:53 AM PDTtogether with all IRI mercenaries down the WC!
PS: The reason for quoting Quran is to prove that IRI is nothing but a 'sham' and is run by the same type of 'brainless' mob as in Paris and as here on IC!
"We have explained (things) in various (ways) in this Qur'an, in order
that they may receive admonition, but it only increases their flight
(from the truth)! (Verse 41, Surah 17)"

Yes Masoud
by hirre on Tue Jun 14, 2011 01:32 AM PDTI would say that it would almost be sufficient to stop buying iranian oil/gas for a couple of months, especially in periods of low oil/gas price... Unfortunately it is a natural resource that is still being over-used...
The ironic situation is that if you would solve the environmental problems of the earth, you would at the same time probably contribute to the liberation process of Iran and many other oil/gas dictatorship regimes...
Great job!
by Azarin Sadegh on Tue Jun 14, 2011 12:13 AM PDTI love flashmobs, especially the opera-flashmobs! But I think holding a silence-flashmob is the best option to represent the current situation in Iran.
Well done. Paris!
Of course, it is not enough to change anything in Iran ...but still, this is much better than nothing (Nothing is what I did on June 12th)
Demo, brainless are the ones quoting that stupid 'book' Quran
by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Mon Jun 13, 2011 11:09 PM PDTfor everything on earth, like you know who: i.e. lying lackeys of IR (take a look in the mirror: hint, hint)
At least these folks are TRYING to do something. What have you done, other than justify every crime of IR by an obtuse quotation from the filthy book also known as Quran?
Your thoughts, culture and basically your entire worldview is simply too dark and sick to understand the meaning of 'dark humor,' stick to your quotation from that filth also known as Islam.
What we, all these millions of Iranians abroad, need to do outside of Iran, is to make life misreable for IR by doing what we used to do with shah's regime: take over their embassies, publish all the documents we'll find in their spy nests, expose them to the max, and make earth burn under their dirty feet, cheers
good but not sufficient
by Masoud Kazemzadeh on Mon Jun 13, 2011 09:57 PM PDTThis action was good. We should encourage more of these. But to think that actions such as these would overthrow the terrorist regime is simply false. What we really need to do is to lobby various governments and entities (UN, EU, etc) to support full boycott of oil from the terrorist regime. Taking the resources from the terrorist regime is the best way to weaken the terrorists and help the people to overthrow the terrorists ourselves. We need a mass uprising to overthrow the regime.

Of all these demonstrations so far I like the one that they get into fight with the so called IRI dimplomats and document their behavior and my all time faovrites are the Ukranian topless protesters with no intention of any hunger strikes.....
Well done
by divaneh on Mon Jun 13, 2011 05:06 PM PDTVery creative. I agree with Houshang that more drastic measures are needed, but still think every effort is welcome. They have already done more than many of their silent countrymen abroad.

If the French had resisted the Nazi like this, they would probably still be occupied by Germans.
There's also another school of thought when it comes to protesting IR: taking it to the enemy, their embassies, counsels, ....
I really respect and appreciate the time and effort folks put into this, but with these post-modern symbolic protests, we're getting nowhere, cheers
J.D. Right on! But the Frenchees are so civilized, see how their jet fighters operate in Libya, they kill so humanitarianly, you have to admit, no one can do it like them. Viva la differance?
Definitely Viva La Resistance.

Regarding the post, "It is was a disputed election, nothing more and nothing less." well it became more than just that due to the response of the corrupt islamic authorities.
The brutality was made it more than a protest about an election, but a question of whether this regime serves the interests of the iranian people. So far no one has been brought to justice and the peoples call for justice will grow louder with time. Majority of people can not express themselves, if they could they would call for an end to the IRI because it is not reformable.
As for the protest in france
We need to build up to another mass protest, with calls for regime change abroad, one day at a time.
BRAVO... Repitition and repitition.

Paris knows protest
by Jahanshah Javid on Mon Jun 13, 2011 03:58 PM PDTI've got to hand it to them. The most creative protests out of all Iranian communities abroad have been organized in Paris. Starting from the Green Scroll march at the Eiffel Tower, to Reza Deghati's group photo of Neda Agha Soltan portraits, to posting stickers on Iranian government offices in Paris, to writing slogans on the wall at the entrance to the Iranian embassy... and now this... well done! I look forward to more :)
