NIAC: Is meaningful civic participation and informed decision-making by Iranian-Americans possible on this site in light of certain of its customs and policies?

NIAC states its mission is “to enable civic participation and informed decision-making [by Iranian-Americans].”

At the link noted you will find facts and questions presented to the administration of Iranian.com (Mr. Jahanshah Javid and Said Amin). The link: //iranian.com/main/blog/cim/opportunity-mr-javid-and-mr-amin-dispel-reoccurring-complaints-about-bias-and-integrity-ira

Within the context of the facts and questions presented to the administration of Iranian.com at the above link, NIAC is invited to comment on those facts in light of its mission statement.

More precisely, the questions being asked of NIAC are as follows:

(1) Is this website’s practice of permitting a faction of commentators to accuse individuals with whom they disagree with of being (a) employees of the Islamic republic of Iran while (b) permitting the faction of commentators to call for the killing of employees of the government of Iran and their families consistent with “enabl[ing] civic participation and informed decision-making [by Iranian-Americans]”? If not, would you like to comment on it?

(2) In light of this website’s censorship of an article concerning Mr. Fakhravar because it alleged he was cooperating with the Israeli government, what is NIAC’s best guess regarding why this site permits NIAC staff to be accused of being proxies of the government of Iran while requiring a specific form of proof for others like Mr. Fakhravar and his group? In other words, why do you suppose this site permits NIAC and its staff to routinely be accused of working for the government of Iran while censoring an article about Mr. Fakhravar and his group that asserted that he was cooperating with Israeli interests?

Both of these issues go to the heart of NIAC’s mission statement and given that this website is widely read and operates under a prominent domain name of interest to Iranians, it would seem that some comment by NIAC is appropriate.

Thank you for considering the questions.

* Forwarded to Misters Javid, Amin and NIAC by email.

Simorgh jaan - don't get yourself riled up over this BS

by Anonymous Observer on

this is no other than "ILoveIran," "Kuroshmazandarani," "Shahab Ferdowsi," etc., etc.  now posing as an organization.  Just wait.  He'll sign up again in a few days under a new username and post a Bahai / Jew hate blog, complete with phtoshopped photos of one thing or the other.

It's a good thing that you emailed the real CIM parent company.  Hopefully they will find out who this clown is and sue him.

May I also ask you a question please?

An ethical and conscientious organization would surely have a website?

Please can you provide me with the link to.your website.

Warning: CIM has changed its name 2 years ago!

by Simorgh5555 on

Apparently the the group.calling itself CIM (Centre for Independent Media) had officialy changed its name to the American Independence News Network as of 2010. Is this the same group or a copy cat group? Furthermore, why would this group have a gmail address and not its own company address as most professional companies. To contact the American Independent Newsnetwork you can email editor@americanindependent.com.and find out for sure whether they are the same CIM who have written this thread. I will be surprised given that they have not used this name for two years and that the tone of the thread seems blatantly accusatory despite its desperate attempt to pass off as being independent. I would not be surprised if this is an IR trick. The real CIM (now American Independent Nrws Network) website is as fellows:
