Euronews Report: Norway Killer Behring Breivik demands king’s abdication and government’s resignation:

King Harald becomes king of Norway (shortly after his father King Olav's death) on Jan 21st 1991:

AFP - Anders Behring Breivik demanded that Norway's government resign and King Harald V abdicate before he would reveal more about his confessed bombing and shooting spree that killed 77 people, Norwegian public broadcaster NRK reported.

The 32-year-old rightwing extremist also called for the resignation of the Norwegian military's top brass and demanded that he be named head of the army during an interrogation on Friday -- his second since the July 22 massacre, NRK reported late Saturday.

But although his demands were categorically denied, the man who has confessed to killing eight people in a bombing of government offices before shooting another 69 at a youth summer camp, finally cooperated during the 10 hours of questioning.

In an interview with AFP Saturday, Norwegian police prosecutor Paal-Frederik Hjort Kraby said Behring Breivik had been "very willing to talk," with one exception:divulging the other "cells" of the organisation he previously had claimed to be a part of.

Behring Breivikis being held in isolation at a high-security prison, and his detention is setto be reexamined every eight weeks.

Two psychiatrists are set to begin assessing this week whether he is legally insane, as prosecutors seek to bring him to trial next year, and are expected to report back by November 1.

His lawyer Geir Lippestad said last week that his client was most likely insane, although he said it was too soon to say whether that would be the line of his defence.

The Norwegian convicted of the massacre of 77 people last year has said he is being held in "inhumane" conditions.

Anders Behring Breivik complained in a letter to the prison service that his coffee is served cold, he does not have enough butter for his bread, and he is not allowed moisturiser.

Breivik is serving a minimum 21-year sentence for the bombings and shootings in Oslo and Utoeya island last July.

The Norwegian authorities have not commented on the letter.

Breivik trial draws to a close (bbc)

The trial of Anders Behring Breivik, who has admitted killing 77 people in Norway last year, has begun hearing closing arguments from prosecutors.

Prosecutors will call for Breivik to be sent either to prison if found sane or to a mental hospital if not.

They will base their request on psychiatric evaluations which have been at odds with each other.

Breivik bombed government buildings in Oslo before shooting young Labour Party supporters at an island camp last July.

As well as killing 77 people, he injured 242.

Thousands defy Norway mass killer Breivik in song - CBS News

OSLO, Norway — Facing terror with music, tens of thousands have gathered across Norway to sing a children's song that mass killer Anders Behring Breivik has claimed is being used to brainwash young Norwegians.

The event was organized as an act of defiance against the right-wing fanatic as survivors gave tearful testimony Thursday in his trial for the July 22 bombing and shooting massacre that killed 77 people.

In the drizzling rain, 40,000 people converged at a central square in Oslo to sing the 1970's song "Children of the Rainbow" — a Norwegian version of American folk music singer Pete Seeger's "Rainbow Race."

Breivik would not be here if Islam had not invaded Europe!

by Arash Kamangir on

Breivik is the sad result of the invasion of Islam in Europe. Breivik would not have commited the crimes he did if moslems did not build mosques all over Europe and If their women did not wear scarves and neghabs in Europe. Breivik would not have killed so many innocent if moslems had behaved( integrated) like many of us who immigrated to West and did not wear chador and did not go to mosques.

Breivik is the sad result of the invasion of a idealogy who has invaded all continents like grasshoppers and force its female followers to wear neghab and force its daughters to marry unknown men and when islam fails to integrate it bombs innocents. Breiviks are the reaction of western society to moslems.

Court orders new tests on Breivik (bbc)

A court in Norway has ordered a new psychiatric evaluation of mass killer Anders Behring Breivik after an earlier report found him legally insane.

Judge Wenche Elizabeth Arntzen said in Oslo that the new evaluation was necessary because of widespread criticism of the initial findings.

On the basis of the earlier report, Breivik would be placed in psychiatric care instead of prison.

His twin attacks on 22 July left 77 people dead and 151 injured.

He set off a bomb in the capital, Oslo, before travelling to the lake island of Utoeya where he shot young activists of the governing Labour Party who were attending a summer camp.

On the same day, he published on the internet a lengthy manifesto in which he outlined his hostility to Muslim immigration and multi-culturalism.
