Today Iranian Lawyer Mohammad Mostafaei in his blog wrote:

``Several days ago, I heard that Amir Hossein, who was the real murderer in the case of Delara Darabi, hung himself in Rasht prison. I knew one of his cell mates who was recently released. I was able to obtain his phone number and talk to him. He said, “Prior to Delara’s death, [Amir Hossein] had told the Rasht Prosecutor several times that he was the [murderer, not] Delara. After Delara was executed, he wrote a letter and said that she was innocent. One time, the Prosecutor went to the prison and threatened to kill [Amir Hossein] if he said anything. Nobody wanted to hear Amir Hossein’s words. He was depressed after Delara’s execution and was having a hard time. Finally, and to ease his conscience, he hung himself”.

So many people, including those of us at Stop Child Executions who had direct contact with her attorney and family never can forget the horror of the sudden execution of Delara Darabi despite all the international efforts to save her. An early morning execution without notifying her parents , lawyer or anyone and in violation of all principles of humanity, international and human rights laws and even the written laws of Islamic regime.

At the time, in my blogs and posts on Iranian.com shouted MAY DAY MAY DAY . I warned that Delara´s execution was much more than execution of an innocent juvenile but the final draw by the Islamic regime against the all activists and the beginning of a new era, and indeed soon after the even uglier than before face of Islamic Republic showed up and many activists from Shirin Ebadi to Shadi Sadr to Delara´s attorney Mohammad Mostafaei... were attacked, many had to leave the country....and then the stolen election ....and those who stayed such as Nasrin Sotoudeh were imprisoned or sileneced .....and the rest is history.

As if Delara, her paintings, her letters and her poems were our warnings to do something before its way too late .....and before Neda gets killed with her blood gushing on the cold asphalts of Tehran in front of the world.......Delara´s call was not only to save her but to save ourselves .... but we didn´t do enough.

If one asks me for 4 symbols of innocent victims of the Islamic regime, I would name :

Mona Mahmoudnejad - A young Bahai girl who was executed for teaching Bahai classes during the ``Golden Days of Imam Khomeini`` (The quote is from Mir-Hossein Mousavi)

Atefeh Rajabi Salahe - A innocent young girl and victim of rape from the Caspian area of Iran who was executed during the same Golden Days of Islamic Regime! (The video clip that I made 2 years ago had about 1 million clicks and then mysteriously was removed from Youtube but I found another copy of it here)

Delara Darabi and NedaAgha Soltan who was shot during the anti-regime demonstartions , post election.

I am not sure how many more Mona´s, Atefeh´s, Delara´s and Neda´s must be killed before Iranians truly unite, walk in millions and take over the power center of the Islamic regime, and once and for all do away with any form religious or ideological regime and instead form a secular democratic government that respects freedom and human rights of every citizen of Iran and the world.

In the words of Delara ``one can not remain a prisoner of hopes and dreams.´´ 

Sadly until then there will be many more ....
