Don't Be "Disgusted" - Seek Justice

Dear D.:

You may recall, the IRI are after those of us who believe in The Bab and Baha'u'llah. Our seven Iranian leaders are in Evin prison, scheduled to go to trial on July 11 for false charges that carry the death penalty. The trial date was verbally given to the families of the prisoners after the election protests. We are afraid that these innocent Baha'is are being positioned to become scapegoats for the IRI.

Shirin Ebadi is their lawyer but she hasn't been allowed to see their files and the seven prisoners haven't been allowed seen their lawyer. Currently the seven prisoners, including two middle-aged women are on half-rationsand are becoming frail and weak.

July 9 is an important Holy Day for Baha'is and has been for 159 years. The Iranian Baha'is who are spread throughout the larger Iranian diaspora, feel as strongly as any other Iranian about the situation in Iran. I simply hoped that others might like to know that we are praying and blogging for the human rights of all Iranians as well has holding public meetings to raise awareness about the human rights predicament in Iran.

July 9th is the anniversary of the student uprising (regardless of their religion) nothing more nothing less! don't try to inject something into it that ain't there to begin with!!!

Martyrdom of The Bab, at Noon.

We will say a prayer for all of Iran,
beseeching God's help for all prisoners.
