There are many similarities between Iran and South Africa.  The white racists there had imposed race based apartheid; the Islamist Rapists have imposed gender & religion based apartheid.

The economy of the white racists could not afford staying viable without access to international market and all kinds of exports including precious metals and diamonds, the Islamist Rapists’ economy is exporting unrefined oil, take than income away and say goodbye to IRR.

It is no accident that Islamist Rapist gofers and lobbies don’t want any talk of serious sanctions, they know it will be the end of their system.

Vichy had more to do with wrongheaded idea of preserving some parts of France by kowtowing to her  occupiers, for which Pétain got the well deserved disgrace he had coming to him the old fool.

... I don't know South African history in detail. I just followed what happened there since the eighties and that's all I know.
Another parallel I can trace with the IR in history is the government of Vichy in France when Hitler invaded. True, the current establishment is not a foreign invader, but the "reformists" are not too far from how Marshal Pétain did things. They're not too different from the "collaborators" in France during WWII in my eyes.
We know how that alliance fell though...

Their tactic

By relentless propaganda, the Islamist Rapists and their gofers have eliminated from public discussion and consideration any possible way to unseat the Islamist Rapists.

If you look at the history of South African struggle, the same tactics were being used back then as well, they failed of course and now SA is a thriving Democracy.

In the absence of any other non-violent, non-military intervention suggestion, South Africa model is a good one to follow, ie. sanctions that bring the tyrants to their knees.
