Shariati The Charlatan caused more damage than the mullahs possibly could cause. His eclectic approach to Islam and presenting it as something that was not, says more about his confused mind than his intellectual prowess!

Here are some reasons why some Muslims follow Shariati:

His disciples and followers feel the need to have a religion.

They are stuck with the religious dogmas they have lived  with all their lives and do not seem to be able to dispense with them.

They are fed up with some of the mullahs and their extreme superstitious views to the point of having a deep loathing for them. They need a substitute for the mullahs they were brought up to respect.

Due to their better schooling than the average pro-mullah Iranians, they possess this superiority complex and want to appear different.

Strange Infatuation?
