The list is out, and it’s a doozy.
Recently in a televised speech the Head Islamist Rapist Khamenei talking about universities said:
“"Many disciplines in the humanities are based on principles founded on materialism disbelieving the divine Islamic teachings. Thus such teachings will lead to the dissemination of doubt in the foundations of religious teachings."
In other word, none of that “I think therefore I am” nonsense, the Head Rapist likes them unthinking therefore he is.
Pursuant to that order the Islamist Ministry of Education formally announced Sunday:
“"Expansion of 12 disciplines in the social sciences like law, women's studies, human rights, management, sociology, philosophy....psychology and political sciences will be reviewed,"
The Islamist Ministry’s announcement further said these disciplines will be reviewed with “native and religion-centric priorities” which requires an Islamist trained philosopher and/or manager to explain whatever that means.
But overall, just like the view the mass murdering Islamist Rapist Republic founder held for economy as being “for donkeys”, henceforth, study of the problematic subjects like women’s studies along with human rights, philosophy and other pesky disciplines are all for donkeys too.

by hamsade ghadimi on Tue Oct 26, 2010 07:39 AM PDTit's amazing that economics, the dismal science, escaped the wrath of this bisavads. and they will be phasing out law, human rights, ...? as if they hadn't already.
Have a good bicycle ride,
by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Oct 25, 2010 09:30 AM PDTHave a good bicycle ride, Darius.
The rain has stopped where I'm at, and after a few adjustments made to modify my motorcycle, I'll be on a good ride myself this afternoon.

by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Oct 25, 2010 09:21 AM PDTSo the last book you read was way back in January of 2009? That explains a lot.
Darius, since January '09 I've read over 60 books. (which isn't a lot)

by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Oct 25, 2010 09:01 AM PDTI wouldn't go so far as saying I haven't picked up a book of value lately. The last book I read was Adam Tooze's The Wages of Destruction, which is an outstanding historical study. And I'm presently reading Majd's latest effort.
What two books have you recently read, Darius, and when?
No Wonder SPink Jaan ... it shows ... ;0)
by Darius Kadivar on Mon Oct 25, 2010 08:52 AM PDTThat you haven't picked up a book of value in years that would expand your mental horizons ...

Darius, I haven't picked up
by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Oct 25, 2010 08:42 AM PDTDarius, I haven't picked up a book on philosophy in over 25 years. These days I mainly study defense topics, which is pretty dry reading, I admit.
I did study some Tao about five years ago, as applied to martial arts instruction. But that was limited to a single application.
I admit, the Dabashi issue really doesn't interest me. Of course for anti-Iran folks like yourself, as well as the Israelis at "Fred", you like to jump all over things like that. That's to be expected from individuals and groups like yourselves, that are constantly seeking material to supplemennt your anti-Iran agendas.
SPink @ IRI You are Late for Your Courses with Dabashi and Co...
by Darius Kadivar on Mon Oct 25, 2010 08:29 AM PDTYou are really neglecting your courses lately :
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8Pk1UYkB3I
This could prove fatal to your entrance exam results at Columbia this semester ...
Without your presence how could Hamid Dabashi or the Sadri Twins continue justifying their salary by giving courses to empty classes ? They will end up having to go back home and accept a poorly paid position at Tehran University ...
You Israelis at "Fred" decry
by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Oct 25, 2010 08:03 AM PDTYou Israelis at "Fred" decry Iranian commentary on the social sciences, but what about your jewish loyalty oath for Israeli citizenship? How about explaining that to us? Or your FM Lieberman's call for expelling Arabs from the occupied territories.
All You Israelis at "Fred" ever do is pump out anti-Iran snippets here on IC, one or two a day. But why not write about what you know? How about a post on those photos of Israelis abusing Palestinian detainees that made the news today? Write on stuff like this taking place in your own country, Israel. Now that would be interesting.
