question on "intellecualism" from our "intellectuals"

Just wondering, how does one become an "intellectual". I mean does one have to complete a "Doctorate Degree in intellectualism? If so where?

Someone must be able to answer my question for sure, as this site alone is awash with "intellectuals" using "gholombe solombe" terminology we mortals dont understand!

Some intellectuals want to benefit from two sides

I don't read all Fred's posts but this is really shameful that everytime someone has a good point, IRI supporters on this site have to attack him or her. Hooman Majid and few others want to benefit from what is happening in Iran. They criticize IRI but not strongly enough because they want to work for it, interview its leaders and basically they want to "ham az tobre bekhorand ham az akhoor." These people need to line up with Iranian people in struggle for democracy, otherwise someday in near future, they will lose all respect. Already, some of them have lost much respect among thsoe of us who can see what they are up to.

Grandson of x, cousin of y

He is married to a relative of Khatamis, not his cousin.  And he is the son of a  diplomat under shah before the revolution, I guess that makes him closet a Shah supporter too, Farah?

I guess Majd is guilty of being related to both regimes. He will be attacked by ideologues who have nothing better to do than to promote the next major conflict in the middle-east. 

Hooman's an Iranian liberal

Hooman's an Iranian liberal like myself. He's disappointed with the 9/11 comments because he sees it as counter-productive, especially towards a potential thaw in US-Iran relations. So do I.

The goal is peace and understanding. 

When Hooman becomes a critic ...

something must have changed. As a grandson of an Ayatollah (Assar - a former Khomeini's teacher) and a cousin to a former president (Khatami) he must have sensed a change coming. Either he and his cousin have lost all their hopes of making a come back or there are indeed signs of them coming back to the front bench politcs. 

 There was a little "technical" fault at the begining of Ahmadinjad's speech at the UN. Apprently his interpreter had been silent for the first few minutes of his speech and eventually when he resumed his speech, his words and those of the interpreter were a few minutes out of sync.

Did Hooman Majd (his last year's interpreter) have a sudden crisis of conscience or did he quit due to a last minute dispute over his pay?

People like Majd and other so called like minded moderates, who have financially benefitted from this regime and its actions are on this site and elsewhere.  But their numbers are very limityed.  Just look at the membership numbers of NIAC.  Very small and struggling.  Millions like you and I are out there,  some supporting surgical attacks like me, and some espuosing tough economic sanctions like you.  The end result is the same, the removal of the Satanic regime of the Islamic Rapist Republic and with it to sideline Islam.
