Musings of a former chicken

In comparison to over two weeks ago when the fantasy persisted, almost all of the free world’s newspapers, most of their TV & radios and a whole lot of lips are gelling around the inconvenient yet incontrovertible fact that the only good form of Islamist republic is the done away one.

There will still be some foot dragging; the usual demagogic realism prescription of all will be well by a “grand bargain” and alike will not fade away quickly. There are just too many careers of no-nothing experts, advocacy fronts, outright lobbies and the livelihoods that they support are dependent on not a fundamental change rather just a tweaking of the status quo.  But there is no escaping it; the writing is on the wall.
