About myself:
I'm half Iranian and half American. I'm here to say what I think. If you came here to be pleased or flattered, you're in the wrong place. No one owns me. I'm a free individual. I don't bow to anyone's politics, here or in Iran. I'm my own person, and that's too bad if anyone doesn't like it. When people read my stuff, they'll get MY opinion. I alone am responsible for my opinion - no one else is. Likewise, I'm not responsible for your opinion, or your assumptions about me. You are.Above: An Iranian mother receives the remains of her son.
To this day, thousands of families still don't know what became of their sons, fathers, husbands and brothers - and still have no grave to visit.

by JahanKhalili on Tue Oct 25, 2011 12:03 PM PDTI will assume that your question about who started the war is an honest and sincere one.
I'm no expert.
But we humans aren't helpless either and can really try to find out - without any tour guide.
I'll address that in another blog entry, thanks for the idea.
I have no explanations to give anyone.

Go somewhere else if you don't like it.

Who do you think was responsible for unleashing this bloody war and then extended it for his diabolical agenda??

Every Iranian knows of a family member, a relative, a friend,
by Oon Yaroo on Sun Oct 23, 2011 12:55 PM PDTa classmate, or a neighbor who lost their lives in the Iran-Iraq war!
The Iran-Iraq war is a tragedy that has left its ugly and painful scars on all of us and will stay around for generations to come!
This tragic scene is tantamount to bringing to justice all those IRR criminals who instigated the conflict with Iraq/Sad'dam, fueled it by luring in the likes of this old lady's son, prolonged it, and were reluctant to minimize the loss and suffering until the very last day when they were forced to drink the cup of poison!
More despicable people than the IRR war criminals are those who have conveniently lost their memory in remembering as to who the main culprits in instigating Sad'dam and taking American hostages were and therefore take the path of least resistance to blame the west for this misery!

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Oct 23, 2011 11:19 AM PDTHaving JK asking for decency is really funny. I have never read more hate from anyone on this site than JK. Then asks for decency!
Decency JK?
by anglophile on Sun Oct 23, 2011 11:07 AM PDTFor an Iran basher and Iran hater that you are decency is an alien word. Many of the visitors to this blog have not read your other documented blogs and comments on Iranian.com. Those blogs and comments are replete with hate-filled AND immature/uneducated comments of a disgruntled child who is unhappy with his birth papers. All I am doing is enlightening them to your true colours. Why are you so worried kiddo? Let the readers be the judge otherwise Ahmadinejad can shed more convincing crocodile tears over the war dead.
Shut Up, Anglophile

by anglophile on Sun Oct 23, 2011 10:32 AM PDTyour blog picture is heart-breaking
by MM on Sun Oct 23, 2011 07:59 AM PDTIt is also more tragic to to multiply the sadness conveyed by this picture by one million grieving families who are still wondering why they lost thier loved ones.
Thanks for this post
by ayatoilet1 on Sun Oct 23, 2011 07:35 AM PDTI have recently become fascinated by the details of the war, and purchased a long list of books about it. There is so much people just simply do not know...but one thing is for sure, the tragedy and pain caused by the way is beyond anyone's comprehension.
Thanks for your decency on this. And thanks for repecting Iranians on this.
It is heartbreaking
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Oct 23, 2011 05:34 AM PDTI would like to add none of it would have happened without the revolution. And it would have been a lot less of it had Khomeini not decided to prolong the war by 6 years.
