Commenting on the work of one of the great contributors of this website a funny thought occurd to me. Imagine we set up a tour of all Iranian.com contributors to Iran and we assign them some responsibilities along the way. Let your imagination loose and come up with something funny! But be courteous!
I recommended Fred to be the tour guide. As all of us sitting in the Iranian.com tour bus, he stands up and tells us what Islamic Rapist Republic did exactly what at what place, then he bends and asks the driver to stop so he can get Baaghaali from his favorite place in Sarcheshmeh...
DK notices the golden Aftabeh from the Golestan Palace's bathroom is missing and gives us a grief.
Monda, makes sure everyone is in line and behave well.
Azadeh, is sitting way back and think why the hell I am here with these morons!
Abarmard, is pulling down Capt Ayhab's shirt telling him, "sit I can't see"!
I leave the rest to you...
I love to hear your words about me.

Excellent stand from "Setareh Sabety"
by Anahid Hojjati on Thu May 06, 2010 05:32 AM PDTI command"Setareh Sabety" for starting her facebook comments about her frustration with people with fake Ids who also abuse these fake IDs.
Anahid one request and my last comment for tonight
by HollyUSA on Thu May 06, 2010 03:58 AM PDTRequest first: Do NOT use 'Dear; when you address me please, EVER.
Second, what IDs people may or may not use is really not any of YOUR business. You are not in charge here. Actually, someone just 'outed' you recently for having multiple IDs too. Was he/she correct? Let me guess what your answer is: No. So what makes you such a detective Anahid? Wait, don't asnwer that I really don't care.
You need to stop posting comments when you are emotional. That way you won't have to go back and change them ( and by the way there is a HUGE difference between editing and completely re-writing a comment). I saw you call Jaleho the 'B' word on this very blog and then you went and changed it. I saw you write a nasty comment about another writer on the site in response to Farnoosh asking why you were hostile toward MPD. Then you changed that too and if I'm not mistaken also been dishonest about it on this very blog. Anahid, hundreds if not thousands of people see these things. Think about it.
Dear Holly, my purpose in life is not to answer your questions
by Anahid Hojjati on Thu May 06, 2010 05:42 AM PDTDear Holly , you are being so self centered. I have had this question that who you are. You are probably already using another ID older than Holly USA. If you answer what other IDs you use on this site, then I tell you what I wrote. I am tired of games people like you play using multiuple IDs .
YOU GUYS ARE FULL of YOURSELVES. There are good people who use fake IDs but they do not use these fake IDs to play games but then there are people like you who play games.
Other people share this frustration with fake IDs too. Setareh Sabety has gone on record registering her frustration with people with fake IDs. Originally I thought people use fake Ids because they are worried about IRI causing them problems. However, now I see that a major reason that fake IDs are so attrcative to commentators on IC is that they can have many fake IDs and use these fake ids to play games with other users, abuse them and harass them .
Holly, this is no way to treat your fellow writer and then you see me in meetings and smile at me and act like you are so nice. I was not born yesterday.
Anahid
by HollyUSA on Thu May 06, 2010 03:30 AM PDTI beg to differ. What you said below does not in any way answer my question. If you are going to talk about people when they are not there to read but later see the the references, then you are responsible for explaining. This isn't our personal living room and I'm not your cousin! And I am certainly not the first you have done this to. What did u say that was so bad you can't repeat?
Holly, I explained in my comment below why this is not necessary
by Anahid Hojjati on Thu May 06, 2010 03:22 AM PDTAny more insistence from you is just too much.
Anahid
by HollyUSA on Thu May 06, 2010 03:19 AM PDTPlease answer my question. What had you said about ME?
JJ please delete Souri's comment referencing my changed comment
by Anahid Hojjati on Thu May 06, 2010 03:16 AM PDTDear JJ, my assumption in using your site is that comments can be changed as long as no one has replied to them. Now here I am being given hard time because I changed my comment or in worst case, I have changed many comments recently. If any other user is frustrated with me changing my comments, they do not have to repond to it so fast. My assumption is that people are busy and if a comment is changed in few minutes after initial posting, chances are that they have no even seen it.
In any case, with Souri's permission, I like her comment that criticized my comment be deleted since the comment she criticizes me for was changed in matter of few minutes. In my initial comment, I ask people to fess up about if they are TellitLikeiTis. By using the word fess up, I hoped that people get the humor in it but my attempt at humor obviously failed and that is exactly one reason that I had changed that comment. I reliazed that it could cause misunderstanding. Furthermore, I do not care to explain to Holly, or anybody else what my original comment was. If I wanted to explain it, I would not have changed it.
Captain,
by Spear on Thu May 06, 2010 03:42 AM PDT"You might consider facts as being cheap shots but I do not."
The "fact" that Reza Pahlavi is somewhat overweight should have no bearing whatsoever on his standing as a potential leader of Iran, none. The world is full of "facts," I would only hope that we emphasize the ones that are germane in deciding whether to support a candidate or not.
Bill Clinton has alway been a little thick around the waist, so what? Are we going to make fun of his McDonalds habit? It's a "fact," that he's chubby and that he enjoys french fries, but so what? It's also a fact that Napoleon was very short and Reza Shah was very tall (6' 3") or that George Washington had wooden teeth. These are all "facts" per se, I would just hope we can distinguish mere "facts" from relevant facts.
Indeed, we could emphasize Bill Clinton's weight problem and harp on it (as you do with RP), but what does that have to do with what he accomplished over 8 years in the White House?
Excuse me?
by HollyUSA on Wed May 05, 2010 09:09 PM PDTSouri, how did I get into this conversation? I can see you you refer to Anahid having 'edited' a comment again, so I can only assume that is where this started.
Anahid, care to repeat what you said about me?
Being supportive
by Souri on Wed May 05, 2010 08:29 PM PDTRest assured that this is always my intention.
Bests,
Dear Souri, I will consider your input
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed May 05, 2010 08:15 PM PDTDear Souri, you have always been supportive so I value your advice.Thanks.
No contradiction here
by Souri on Wed May 05, 2010 08:05 PM PDTI said we have to cope with the site's policy. There's no contradiction when I tell you it is not good to change your comment after having posted it!
You have the right to edit your comment hundred times if you like it (yes, this is the site's policy and this time I approve it!)
But I am telling you that you are doing this too often and if it goes like this, maybe people won't take you seriously anymore.
I didn't make a court of it and didn't condemn you, forcing you to confess that you had edited your post! I am just letting you know very friendly, how I do see your action.
It's up to you to continue your way or change it.
Midwesty, we just cross-posted
by Was Rosie on Wed May 05, 2010 08:18 PM PDTI wrote you that post just below before I saw yours to Anahid.
I asked you whether it was a joke when you told me you thought I was Anahid and you didn't answer me and you just answered Anahid answering me about it??????????
sheesh......like the trailer says, 'defies comparison'...
lol

Midwesty,
by Was Rosie on Wed May 05, 2010 07:56 PM PDTWell, since you've already answered someone else and you didn't answer my question, I guess that means it wasn't a joke when you asked me if I was Anahid. Because I asked you to tell me if it was a joke and you didn't say anything. So it wasn't. Thanks for the answer.

Dear Souri, your comment is still good
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed May 05, 2010 07:54 PM PDTDear Souri, even though I changed my comment but your comment still is understandable. Howver you contradict yourself in your comments. You tell me that multiple Id is site policy and I should live with it. But then in your next comment you get upset with me since I changed my comment. Dear Souri, being able to change one' own comment is also site policy and less harmful than having multiple IDsn especially those who use these Ids to play games..
Anahid jan
by Midwesty on Wed May 05, 2010 07:43 PM PDTIf what I said felt like a nonsense to you, then I wasn't thinking. I apologize.
Well, Souri, Anahid probably
by Was Rosie on Wed May 05, 2010 07:48 PM PDTthought better of it herself and deleted it as you were writing yours or deleted it after to show you she agreed. It's six of one half of the other. Doesn't matter.
Who could have a sane conversation with anyone here? No one here is sane or they wouldn't be here. lol
Let's just let this one go now, shall we--okay, Anahid? Everything's fine. The fact is that the medium itself, the technology, is conducive to...to...to mind-boggling...flights of fancy. It's a challenge to everyone. IT'S NEW.
One very good thing that just came out of your brief 'exchange' with Anahid Souri, is that you mentioned that you also had problems with this TellIt 'avatar'. I didn't mention it before but so did I. So that first post when that 'avatar' returned after being blocked, disrespectfully using the same name, wasn't deleted for nothing.
Oh and btw, in case anyone's wondering, I didn't flag anything here. I advocate for flagging but I very rarely flag. And that's completely internally consistent.
ps I owe you an e-mail, Souri. I didn't forget.
Anahid
by Souri on Wed May 05, 2010 07:29 PM PDTDo we have to take you seriously? Can we?
You always edit your comment and change its content, which makes difficult to have a sane conversation with you.
Now you have deleted your last post again and my reply to it is becoming a total non-sense.
Please respect the time we put to read your comment and also the time that we spend on writing a reply to it.
Sincerly,
Anahid jon
by Souri on Wed May 05, 2010 07:22 PM PDTFirst of all, JJ would not block or unblock an account just because you or me tell him to do so.
WasTellit was blocked, like every other user who come back right after being blocked, to do the same thing again. When people account get blocked, they first receive a warning, but they take it too easy and continue their way. Then they get blocked. And if they come back the next day with a similar user-name and say the same stupidity, of course they will get blocked again.
But what surprised me the most is that you ask people to come here to confess! Don't you find it a little bit ridiculous?
People have the right to chose multiple IDs.....(I don't approve it, but this is the site's rule) So what is the matter, if the one who has insulted you is called WasTellit, or MPD or Holly?
Do you know them personally? And why do you think that that person should confess to you? Just to get back their account?
Are you serious Anahid jon?
This site is not about me, you, Jaleho, Holly, MPD....etc etc.
It is a public site which is used and abused by some decent and indecent people, let say equally!
Just deal with the rules and don't bring matters to a personal level.
The blog was light and funny and now it turns too sour!
Tellitlikeitis was chasing me in every blog to ridicul and insult me. I just flagged him and went my way. Until he got himself blocked for having abused many people in the site.
So were many other people. This is not about you, or another special person. This is about the whole site and its life. We want a better life, a kind of democracy. People who abuse this space will be sanctioned and they will learn how to act the next time.
But I don't think we have to act as if this is a court and we are here to condemn people and pass judgment on them.
Please loosen up a bit and have a more positive attitude.
Dear Rosie, I can't believe it
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed May 05, 2010 07:09 PM PDTIf I could write in English as good as Rosie, I would be very happy. Seriously, Midwesty what did Jaleho give you to drink on that bus? Or maybe it was red wine.

Niloufar,
by Midwesty on Wed May 05, 2010 04:27 PM PDTYeahhhhhh...I think it was Shoka or someting like that. The wooden picnic tables and seats with a lot of smoking and of course over priced coffee (at least what we thought back then before seeing Starbucks' prices).
The guy was from Shomal, a nice guy and I think Shoka means something in Mazandarani or Gilaki language. It means daughter or something...darn I can't remember...good time...right before I come to the US...from our gang who used to meet there all are perished now to somewhere in this world...
But hey...It's great you recalled that...nice... :O)

i forgot its name too. wasn't it cafe sorkh or something like that? the post-modern cafe with overpriced coffee in the corner of the mini-mall?
PS Anahid, pps Midwesty
by Was Rosie on Wed May 05, 2010 10:00 AM PDTregarding your questioning whether Jaleho is WasTellIt or Ghormeh or whoever, I didn't realize until rereading this thread that the tour guide had asked me at one point whether I was you. (sigh.......) Don't you remember the other day that Exir decided I was Shaban and a man and you had to tell him you'd seen me?
People who consistently take bold positions in bold language don't need five fake ID's to further their goals. And they generally don't WANT them. I avoid this kind of speculation as much as possible. One time I was pushed into it and it turned out to be completely wrong with very serious consequences.
It is best not to spend too much time spinning wheels over these things. It does far more harm than good.
That's a message to everyone, not just you.

Niloufar,
by Midwesty on Wed May 05, 2010 06:30 AM PDTVery sophisticated song. Most people think sophistication has something to do with complexity, but I think it is the opposite. Simplicity is the core of sophistication.
In visual arts, the ruins of Persepolis and depth of skills of the graphic designers who lived thousands of years ago, still is apparent to the modern visitors. Simple lines but every lines meant something powerful.
A true art, takes you not pushes you. The time slows down as you listen to this music.
Somehow it took me back to Argentina Square in Tehran and my great friends in Cafe Shoka (? sorry don't recall the name exactly) close to Vanak!
Wonderful!
Dear Sam, my check verifies your description is not correct
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed May 05, 2010 03:28 AM PDTDear Samsam, if you go to my account. You see list of my blogs. The one that I wrote one month ago about the problems with using Farsi in Diaspora has many of your comments. I also posted a new comment on that thread about nature of some of our previous comment exchagnes.
Agha Captain Ayhab,
by Spear on Wed May 05, 2010 01:53 AM PDTI appreciate your last comment about me, and sorry for the late reply. Indeed, we have had many bitter battles on this site over the last couple of years, but I respect what you said here, "You as Spear took time and read me[my comments] and you realized that in fact there were not much difference between what I say and what you say... True we have had some bitter disagreement for which we have only ourselves to blame, but I need you to know one thing, I hold no ill toward your person nor anyone else for that fact.
In all honesty, I used to despise you greatly, Captain, perhaps even more than I (still) loathe Q, but I recently came across one of your posts where you completely rejected the IRI, which took me by surprise, and you even rejected Q's defense of the IRI on the same thread, which annoyed Q greatly, which is why "Spear" was rather polite toward you, while "Sassan" and "Free" were mercilessly, if not ruthlessly against you at every turn.
Sassan was "a real wild one" as you say, because I was green back then, full of piss and vinegar. I like to think I'm more mature now (even though it's only been a week since I was recently blocked as "Free"), still, I like to think I'm much more measured these days with respect to my comments, although sometimes, Sassan's temperament and flare for cyber saber-rattling seeps through my writings, specially when dealing with the likes of esmailShahanshah or IRI or Iranvataneman -- these jackals bring out the worst in me (Sassan).
Anyway, thank you for the kind remarks, it's greatly appreciated, and I hope you have yourself a wonderful day as well.
No hard feelings, no ill will on my part either.
I just wish you would cut out the cheap insults on Reza Pahlavi. Have yourself a field day attacking his substance, or lack thereof, but when you go below the belt and attack his looks or weight, I just cringe a little, losing respect for your voice. Sassan would reply viciously in kind, as would Free perhaps. Spear will just shake his head and think you're making yourself look petty and small.
Having said that, you're obviously free to say whatever you want, and that's the beauty of freedom of speech.
