Mr. Ala
by Mullahkosh on Tue Nov 29, 2011 02:52 PM PSTLet us know when there is a "aftabeh" day in Iran. On that day, we will be reading that fantastic literary work of Khomeini "tozi 'ol masael" while marveling at one of the greatest Islamic Iran achievement, the good old "aftabeh". Now that calls for great celebration.
Thank you for reminding 7 Azar
by Fair on Mon Nov 28, 2011 10:59 PM PSTThe Iranian Navy Day. The story is recounted here:
//www.iinavy.org/morvarid.html
While this day was named after the Iranian Navy, there were very special thanks due to the Iranian Air Force, most notably Colonel Abbas Doran, Colonel Alireza Yasini, and the personnel of the tactical fighter bases in Bushehr and Shiraz, who were some of the only remaining pilots proficient with the Maverick missile, which was the star of that day.
That day was all about the few Iranian patriots who were being attacked both by their own government and the Iraqis, not to mention all the supporters of the Iraqis. Many of these officers friends were in jail or executed around that same time. These gentlemen were outnumbered and outgunned, yet they defied all logic and odds, and dedicated themselves and all their training and ability to their country that day and for years to come. Their enemies were the enemies of Iran- Saddam Hussein and the anti Iranian mullahs led by Khomeini.
As always in our history, the true heroes of Iran will endure, and the trash like Saddam and Khomeini will be remembered for what they were- worthless barbarians. I remember and take pride in gentlemen like Colonels Doran and Yasini and all their comrades in arms everyday.
Thank you heoes of Iran, veterans of the IIN and IIAF.

Ma adam b-show nistim…
by Mohammad Ala on Mon Nov 28, 2011 06:46 PM PSTAs Jahanshah Javid has said several times, “ma adam b-show nistim.” The level of language used by several members are not acceptable. I bet if you were held accountable, you wouldn’t resort to “aarbadeh keshee.”
By “real” people, I have been meaning to say “accountable,” and “responsible,” people which I am clarifying here.
The level of conversation is similar to chaleh maydoon. When and where did I say you cannot attack IRI? Ignorant and ill-mannered fits most of you who resort to personal attacks.
So much for freedom of speech. LOL.
Not sure who you had in mind, but since you mentioned Canada
by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Mon Nov 28, 2011 06:04 PM PSTme beloved, rather cold, country of residence, I shall remind you that HT is my actual pen name for all these years and I have publshed in both languages, with color pictures (not studio pictures though) with that pen name.
With all due respect Dr. Ala the query still remains:
Do you have US citizenship sir? I actually made a bet on this.
Do you think the title "Ironies of Dual Citizenship" has any bearing, or is germane to tis blog?
Ignorant and ill-mannered
by Mohammad Ala on Mon Nov 28, 2011 05:24 PM PSTSeveral of you just do not get it. I need to ask AO to bring his 2 by 4 to hit you so that you would wake up.
People should do what they think is right. .... "ignorant and ill-mannered" fits cowards who hide and question "real" people. The actions of few have caused several valuable members not to post on iranian.com. They are posting on reputable sites where people have integrity and back up their words. LOL... Someone who writes letters and posts them on IC have used four different names (by his admission) which none of them are his “real” name. Shouldn't members be held accountable for what they write or say? Even those who live in the USA or Canada have not learned to be responsible for their actions ... is that why they use pseudo names?? As I wrote in 2005, Iranians look with disdain upon those who disagree with them.

Dr. Ala, I totally understand and applaud your selfless efforts, past and present. But much like Sxx, we lack your level of tolerance and patience with the ignorant and the ill-mannered people that regularly hang out at the Iranian.com
Mr. Ala: Why do you need
by vildemose on Mon Nov 28, 2011 03:10 PM PSTMr. Ala: Why do you need my identity to answer a simple question?? Mr. Ala, what are you afraid of???Why such a hostility toward anyone who sees right through your feeble attempts to minimize IRI's criminality and silence those who don't agree with your endorsment of IRI??
This is not IRI....You cannot bully people like they do in Iran.

16th of Azar is always a more significant and lively day to
by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Mon Nov 28, 2011 03:18 PM PSTcelebrate. Our navies were the greatest in ancient times, our navy in the last century has been laughable, to paraphrase RG a bit like this blog itself, a joke.
As far as question and answer sessions in here go, me thiks there's really no one overall approach that covers every single instance and circumstance. I would opt for a case by case approach.
In this specific case, since the blog has a very nationalist tone, a query was made as to the writer's citizenship(s). Which meself also thinks is a dual citizenship. Right Dr. Ala?
Could we call this "Ironies of Dual-Citizenship Nationalism?"
Thank you
by MRX1 on Mon Nov 28, 2011 01:21 PM PSTfor remembering this day. Iranian navy was the smallest branch of armed forces and so much of it was damaged , aged and destroyed by this regime. regardless, how can you provide a tribute to Iranian navy without acknouledging the work of Great reza shah and his son mohammad reza shah in creation and modernization of this force.
16 Azar is the day I shall commemorate.
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Mon Nov 28, 2011 12:55 PM PST//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Student_Day_(Iran)
no offence meant, but the blog itself comes across as a laughable attempt at generating false sense of nationalism, lots of "ey Iran" shoar's, without a mention of the criminal entity, the islamist regime which is hell bent on leading Iran to the verge of a disasterous war.....

Everyone on Iranian.com must reveal their real first & last name
by AMIR1973 on Mon Nov 28, 2011 12:30 PM PSTBecause other "reputable website(s)" require each and every single person who comments on an article, news item, opinion piece, etc to sign in with their first and last name. I think it would be especially interesting to try this in a venue where individuals often harshly criticize the IRI and see what might happen when those individuals or their relatives visit Iran. I daresay one immediate effect would be a lot less criticism of the IRI...hey, maybe it's a great idea after all!
With all due respect for Vildemose
by Ali Lakani on Mon Nov 28, 2011 12:28 PM PSTI'd have to agree with Dr. Ala.
Even when users have not provided their real names, in the heat of some arguments, some IC users have gone to lengths to research and extract their opponents' personal information and to post the information on IC. It is not fair for people who are anonymous themselves to ask personal questions of individuals who have registered with their full, formal name. There is so much more to say and ask about the issues without having to resort to personal information and personal attacks.
Peace out,
Personal questions from members who hide their identity...
by Mohammad Ala on Mon Nov 28, 2011 12:22 PM PSTPeople hold opinions on different issues based on their education, past experiences, prejudices, etc. But it is hard to convince others to see things our way if we begin a disagreement with personal questions or insults. As we have seen on this site by people who hide their identity and ask personal questions . . . it would turn into futile and endless spat.
IC’s motto has been that “nothing is sacred.” I would argue that some things are… so, let members be held to minimum standards of ethical behavior in this social setting and everyone to be treated equally….The day IC enforces the policy used by every other reputable website(s), until that time all questions will not be fair to ask and/or to answer.
Mr Ala: Are you a US

When jihadists become military strategists!
by Anonymous Observer on Mon Nov 28, 2011 10:21 AM PSTThe event described below is a case study in military stupidity by jihadists:
//rasekhoon.net/Article/Show-15091.aspx
I will not repeat the story here as everyone can read it. But in a nutshell, an Iranian navy ship is urrounded by an American force, and is given multiple opportunities to abandon ship to avoid injuries and death. They are even promised asylum in the U.S. (those evil, barbaric, bloodthirsty Americans). Now, any prudent, educated and professional military officer would have surrendered to save the lives of his men. But not the jihadist idiot who was commanding this ship. He essentially told the Americans to attack them, which they did, and in the process destroyed the ship and killed a whole bunch of the crew. Unfortunately, the commander himself appears to have survived.
These are the warmongering jihadists who are supposed to defend our people. This is a glimpse into their mentality and into how they are willing to sacrifice innocent people for their jihadist goals. Iranians are in big trouble!!!
