by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Fri Nov 18, 2011 08:43 PM PSTNot only my fadder is bigger than you fadder, me modder is also whiter than you mom.
I just happen to know that human beings in their early evolved forms emanated from Africa, Horn of Africa to be exact, Shakh Afrigha (and I'm not imitating Aghay Ghatebeh either. This joke might be over your head).
Also keep in mind that ancient Greece would have been impossible without previous contributions from ancient Eygpt and them Phoenicians. Hence your "white," western civilization has some very deep non-white, non-western, African, Levantian origins.
The part about melatonin is just facts of life. Don't want to get skin cancer, stay away from the sun. Good night, son.

by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Fri Nov 18, 2011 08:36 PM PSTThe only nutt here is you. That work, you so easily dismiss, without even taking a look at its description, is a three volumes, comparative study of more than twenty different ancient languages and cultures.
When arrogance meets ignorance, it's just something else.
BTW there is no white people. It's all a myth. Have you noticed when you go under the sun you get darker, not whiter.
Humanity began in Africa, we're all black. Some more melatonin challenged than others. Just stay away from the sun, you'll be fine.
Good Qualities of Iranians
by JahanKhalili on Fri Nov 18, 2011 08:14 PM PSTOk, so back to the subject, I'd say these are worth mentioning:
شفقت، از خود گذشتگی، انصاف، فدا کاری، غیرت.
Shafeghat
Ensaf
Az khood gozashtegi
Fadakari
Gheirat
(I observed these qualities among Iranians who were lower class, reigious or even supporters of the Islamic Republic far more than I've observed them among the elitist pampered rich "suck-sess-fool" Iranians).

We Shouldn't Be Discussing This on This Thread, Tiger Lily
by JahanKhalili on Fri Nov 18, 2011 07:45 PM PSTBut skin pigmentations aren't race - otherwise Koreans would be counted as white people.
Racial differences involve many other things.
JK, now I'm not joking either
by Tiger Lily on Fri Nov 18, 2011 07:43 PM PSTdon't defend skin pigmentations, honestly it won't do you any good. I mean this well.
In fact, get out of the duality thing and just cherry-pick. (been there, don that...)Honestly, it's the best and the most productive and healthy way. ;)

Mr. Ala, I would add these, and forget about some stuff
by JahanKhalili on Fri Nov 18, 2011 07:35 PM PSTRichness?
Who cares? I know plenty of rich assholes. The same with educated people - they can be assholes, too. Trash. What I remember from Iran was a sense of community and social responsibility towards others. This is a sort of considerateness toward others and concern for the common good that once existed in old America, but no longer does. So if you don't mind, I'd add:Shafeghat
Ensaf
Az khood gozashtegi
Fadakari
Gheirat
Only those Iranians...
by JahanKhalili on Fri Nov 18, 2011 07:19 PM PST... who realize that it was white people who gave the world all this technology and science that they benefit from, should be allowed to be here.
Would you tolerate it if Americans were running loose in Iran, and trashing its culture and disparaging Iranians, while they were touting their "success" and pointing to the fact that they were making money to prove that they were "succsessful"?
I thought Iranians were supposed to be fed up with that in 1979.
It works both ways, you know.
"Successful" means what?
by JahanKhalili on Fri Nov 18, 2011 07:16 PM PSTIranians come here for their own benefit.
They come here to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AMERICA, not to give it something.
The benefit is all-to-often one way.
Are these Iranians here who trash the rednecks who founded and built this country, and are this country, a benefit to it?
Of course not. They're like a contagion, and it would be better for real Americans if they weren't here.
Iranian-american community is also the most educated, richest
by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Fri Nov 18, 2011 08:39 PM PST'immigrant' grouping as well. Though the extent of assimilation makes claims of 'immigrants' a bit questionable. Of course, these people are the ones that were suppose to be in Iran, leading and building their own country of origin Iran, but they can't, so instead they're building the US, or Canada,...
Two years after the 1979 revolution, about 1700 Iranian doctors immigrated to Canda. Canadian officials were beyond their wildest expectations, they kept saying we could have never produced so many doctors ourselves.
The best in the world, yet not good enough at home. Go figure.
Ain't we just a most wonderful bunch of people? Just can't be so wonderful inside Iran, that's all.

JK , Iranians are THE most successful immigrants in the USA
by Tiger Lily on Fri Nov 18, 2011 06:55 PM PST(I'm on google strike, but this is really a fact)
Iranians are THE most successful immigrants in the entire history of the USA.
very simply because they are socio-political immigrants rather than economic ones.
It's a fact. An undisputed one.
Now what is measured as success is a totally different matter.
Mr. Ala, there are things I admire about Iranians...
by JahanKhalili on Fri Nov 18, 2011 06:35 PM PST... that are not in your list.
One of them was the friendships I experienced in Iran.
Some Things I Disagree With Here
by JahanKhalili on Fri Nov 18, 2011 06:35 PM PSTIranians successful immigrants?
What does that mean? You've probably all seen this: //www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/No-Place-to-Park-85105762.html These people were successful in their own opinion. The definition of successful is relative. Just about everything on the list can be disputed, or has a dark side to it..

People have a
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Nov 18, 2011 04:36 PM PSTright to point to both good and bad they see in each other. No one is required to agree. Or to read these or any other blog. If people want to praise good qualities more power to them.
There are many other places where people decry negative qualities. All people include both good and bad qualities. Thankfully in America we are free to discuss both. Good for us.
In IRI we are required to beat ourselves on the head. If I wanted to bash myself on the head all day I would move to IRI. Then spend all day with an axe cracking my head. Obviously I chose not to do it. I want to see the good in people.

by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Nov 18, 2011 02:54 PM PSTthanks. By the way, Can we include being able to cook Tahchin and tahdig as good characteristics of Iranians?
The tried-and-true formula for men.
by comments on Fri Nov 18, 2011 02:22 PM PSTBack hair is not only for Iranian men. Don't you watch men of other nationalities when you go to a gym?
Eyebrow, ear and nose cleaning are so common elements nowadays. I think all men who were proud of their hairy ears including my grandfather died years ago.
If one is sensitive and critical of looking good he has to read men fashion and fitness magazines. Askmen.com provides the tried-and-true formula of dressing right and smelling great, but it's a bit conservative.
p.s. Dear Anahid: just a short note that our last month IC communication about Tahchin and Tahdig was really funny. Thank you.

Not only reeze but sometimes they are teeze too
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Nov 18, 2011 01:26 PM PST:).
Iranians are reezeh
by Truthseeker9 on Fri Nov 18, 2011 01:16 PM PSTThat is a good characteristic as shorter people have a smaller impact on the environment. People averaging 6 feet can impact human survival by creating more pollution and depletion of resources, such as water, energy and oil. Shorter people also live longer.
Dear Comments, thanks for your comment addressed to me
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Nov 18, 2011 01:04 PM PSTI do agree that dinner is not needed for networking. Also some Iranians are just used to making too much food for their gatherings. As long as food does not go to waste, I guess it is fine.

Yes, it would be much better (and much more Islamic!) to show mercy and compassion to others, as much as possible, and so be a good example. If this was shown more to Ahzaris, then maybe poor boys Ayaz Marhoni and Mahmoud Asgari might have been forgiven and not killed.
As for the the Great: how about the super love of poetry? This is noted by all visitors! And the great singers, such as Fereidoon Feroughi (favorite singer of Ayaz Marhoni) and Farhad Feroughi! These could be on any great opera stage in the entire world!
