Thank you all for visiting this cartoon,,,
by Omid Hast on Mon Oct 31, 2011 10:26 PM PDTI guess everyone got the idea except for one person. I hope by now I have convinced him that I am not a slave, but a sheep, in need of a shepherd. I don't know where he went. I guess he just wanted to piss on my blog and leave.
Stoning a person to death is not illegal, using wrong stone is..
by Omid Hast on Mon Oct 31, 2011 10:12 PM PDTMeyBokhor_Manbarbesuzan, here is a blog for you to read that would help you not to be a sheep. Appearntly, according to this blog, by the Article 104 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Penal Code, stoning a person to death is not illegal in the Islamic Republic of Iran, but using the wrong size stone is.
//iranian.com/main/blog/iqbal-latif/stoning-person-death-not-illegal-using-wrong-stone
By donating £5 now, you can help get stoning outlawed in Iran forever, the link provided by the blog says. Thank you for all your help in banning stoning.
Excellent Cartoon
by divaneh on Mon Oct 31, 2011 04:27 PM PDTI quite like the way that you are progressing with the design. First it was bike on the camel, now camel on the bike and next both of them on the woman. I like this design better especially because of the size of the bike which allows the woman to use it for drying clothes after doing the laundry.
I am a big admirer of your works and think people like MBMB who think these cartoons defame us, must have been sleep for the last 32 years. If anything, such cartoons by Iranians show how ridiculous they find what is forced on the civilised people of Iran by uncivilised and their supporters.
Sheep, cow and camel are currency of compensation, lol :)
دادستان کل ایران: در دیه گاو و گوسفند و شتر جایگزین ندارد
Omid HastMon Oct 31, 2011 09:19 AM PDT

omid, you need not worry
by hamsade ghadimi on Mon Oct 31, 2011 08:20 AM PDTomid, you need not worry about those who like to equate the iri to the iranian people. with this strategy, they can claim that when you poke fun at iri's ridiculous policies/plans, then you're ridiculing the iranian people. or if one supports the hindering of the plundering of iran's wealth by the sepah and and mullahs through sanctions, then they must be against the "ordinary" iranians. obviously this character is not incensed by the notion that it's unislamic for girls and women to ride bicycles and mad at you for pointing it out cleverly through your craft.
good cartoon and looking forward to your other designs. :)
Aside from rediculing my own, so called, self slave mentality,,,
by Omid Hast on Mon Oct 31, 2011 10:16 AM PDT... please explain this, is it me that says pay with camel for punitive damages, or is it in the ISLAMIC Republic of Iran's penal code in the constitution? It wasn't me who brought camels to Azadi Square to be used as blood money. Or, how about stoning, did I say stone another human being to death, or is it in the ISLAMIC constitution of Iran? Or, how about whipping people, and pulling their eyes out, or hanging them by cranes in public? Are these my imaginations, or are they all Islamic? Was the ISLAMIC park, car, taxi, bank, etc., Islamic bicycle being the latest, my idea or is it the idea of the biggest slave holder (oops! make that shepherd) of them all, the Supreme Leader who regards us all, including you sir, as sheep, not slaves. You would have been better off calling me a sheep, catering to Westerners, than calling me a slave.
We are inferior, as long as we demand bank embezzlers hands to be cut, glee with pleasure when a criminal dictator is sodomized to death, and demand an eye for an eye, and so on, and so forth...
Thank you for contributing to the streotyping of Iranians
by MeyBokhor_Manbarbesuzan on Mon Oct 31, 2011 01:38 AM PDTThank you for contributing to the streotyping of Iranians as camel jockeys. You and the rest of the BGs might think you are rediculing the IRR, but that's not how Westerners observe it.
To them we are all the same, be it field slaves or be it house slaves rediculing field slaves.
If this is how you see your country men, whether muslims, islamists, etc., then you have a severe case of inferiority complex.
Wow suitemates! I guess it's called suitemates,,,
by Omid Hast on Sun Oct 30, 2011 09:52 PM PDTMy English was not that good back then, so I guess I didn't get what it was called :O)
So, you were suite-mates too (2 Rms. w/bath in middle)
by MM on Sun Oct 30, 2011 09:31 PM PDTI guess the bathroom ritual needs to be explained to the new arrivals from time to time, whether they listen or not.
The first video,,,
by Omid Hast on Sun Oct 30, 2011 09:30 PM PDTThose kids in the first video, soon after the video ended, crashed into an Islamic Morality Police car, and were sorry for horsing around like that.
The second video, when the bicycle circus act was performed during their tour in Iran, the female performers had to wear chadors, so the audience didn't really know what was going on, and so they were very disappointed, but the Islamic Morality Police was very happy with their performance. They thought it was an excellent act.
The third video, the elephant's tricycle design is under consideration for the Islamic Tricycle for Iranian Woman, with a tent on top of the flat bed.
P.S. if you revisit my other bicycle cartoon, you'll so that some people have posted links to some interesting cartoons and stuff.
MM,
by Omid Hast on Sun Oct 30, 2011 09:13 PM PDTIn college, way back then, in the dormitory we used to live when we just arrived in the USA, we had a room that housed four people, two students with two beds and everything else on one side, and two on the other side. The old lady, everybody called her Mom, in charge of the dorm had housed Iranian students together four in each room, as much as it was possible. However, these rooms had one bathroom in the middle of the room, so it was accessible from both sides, meaning the bathroom had two doors, one for each side. So any time someone had to use the bathroom they had to lock two doors.
Me and my brother lived on one side of one of these rooms and this other Iranian student lived with his brother on the other side. One day my brother opened the bathroom on our side to use the facility and found the younger of the two brothers was using the toilet-frangi as you described it, as a squat toilet, with his feet on the two sides of the toilet seat. Apparently he had forgotten to lock both doors while he was doing his business.
:O)

by yolanda on Sun Oct 30, 2011 08:55 PM PDTHi Omid,
A couple of days ago, I saw your cartoon with a lady leading a camel plus a bike on top of it......I was trying to find an Islamic bike on you-tube.....I found nothing, only this bike video from Iran:
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0dM8b4GVsg
It looks very unislamic to me! LOL!
I did read a couple of Islamic bike articles, but there is no photo of the actual Islamic bike.
Your new cartoon reminds me of bike stunt like this one:
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=xto0TYrHcRY&feature=related
....well, elephant can ride a bike:
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0k9ZSNgIiw
Smart bike design, I just hope the camel coorperates! :O)
She gets up there using an Islamic Elevator :O)

Laughing and rolling :O)
LOL - your cartoon reminded me
by MM on Sun Oct 30, 2011 08:51 PM PDTLOL - your cartoon reminded me of someone I knew way-back who could not get used to the toilet-farangi when he came to the US. So, he put his feet on the two sides/edges of the toilet-farangi (just as your camel drawing is on top of the bicycle), did his doodooo and finished with the aaftaabeh......... Now, try to draw that picture, and pass it by the censors!
very nice, thanks for the laughs and a reminder of the old times :)
:)))
by Nazy Kaviani on Sun Oct 30, 2011 08:40 PM PDTBut how does she get up there? I love it Omid Hast!

I will be back!
For the non-Farsi speaking people out there...
by Omid Hast on Sun Oct 30, 2011 08:13 PM PDTThis is one of the designs suggested for the "Islamic Bicycle for Iranian Women".
