One day shall come that being a muslim is a crime and you have to deny even being one to avoid jail.
What I am posting here and blogging about may actually make many Islam haters on IC happy and ready to attack as usual. I do expect nothing from these death to Islam crowd of IC. I should say do not even bother !!
I only ask those who cares , muslim or non muslim , religious or non religious ones to be a voice for the voiceless. Let it be written that at this time of the history the target is no longer Jews or Communists but it is " ISLAM "
New McCarthy-like Congressional hearings beginning this Thursday about Muslims in America

Congress To Hold Hearings On Muslim Threat
Things may get worse, Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Chair of the Homeland Security Committee of the House of Representatives, is holding McCarthy-like Congressional hearings beginning this Thursday on the "Radicalization of American Muslims."
Quite a bit of the proposed witness list has looked like a who's who of Islamophobes,
and we Muslim Americans are holding our collective breath waiting for the fallout from these hearings.
We wonder: will we see more hate mobs outside our mosques or events due to hysteria being whipped up by these hearings?
It's certainly possible, and Muslims around the country are strategizing on how to respond to protect our faith community from more bigoted protests,
or even dangerous attacks on our places of worship and individuals.

A Minnesota Democrat, congressman Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to the House,
says that while it's proper to investigate radicalization, he thinks it is wrong to single out a religious minority.
"I worry about it," he said on the program. "Everybody I talk to worries about it, and we're concerned about the breadth of this."
He added, "It's absolutely the right thing to do for the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee to investigate radicalization,
but to say we're going to investigate a religious minority, and a particular one, I think is the wrong course of action to take."
On Sunday, groups opposed to King's hearings plan to rally in New York. President Barack Obama's deputy national security adviser
will speak on the administration's approach to countering domestic radicalization.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Mar 18, 2011 11:26 AM PDTWhat I mean is that Stewart is not being fair to King. He takes statements out of context. Then does not give him a chance to provide his point of view. To me it is not honorable. He said King was a guest on his show; it was untrue.
He just took some of King's words and stringed them together as he saw fit. If he wants to have a debate then he should invite King. Have his say and let King respond. What that show really turned out was a monologue with cut and pasted scenes of King.

I would appreciate if Stewert were to make sure and hold a rally before voting each time like last time when the Republicans took the House back and nearly the Senate.

If a reader has difficulty 'digesting' what VPK presents, it is the reader's mind that seems detached from reality.
My attitude towards the wonderful religion of islam was shaped post 9/11 through reading various material, and also noting the cultural state of muslim majority nations and how muslims treat non-muslims and muslim women. Pre-911 I just looked at muslims as being different from us, but not dangerous, but all that changed based on daily acts of 'kindness' that muslims commit across the globe.
allah-akbar to muslim folks now. :-)

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Mar 18, 2011 05:18 AM PDTWe can debate whether IRA is a terrorist organization. They are no more terrorist than PLO. Basically Britain is occupying parts of Ireland. The Irish people want them out. Unlike the Jews, the British have no "historical" right to Ireland.
Regardless of this IRA has never targeted America. Therefore it is not a threat to USA. I see no reason why America should worry about IRA. I see lots of reasons why America should worry about Islam. American Irish don't go around flying planes into buildings.
Stweart does not have the guts to bring King on the show. He justquotes him out of context. Does not give him a chance to reply. Iranians say "tanha be gazi raft; va razi bargasht". If Stweart has any honor he would invite King and have a real debate.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Mar 18, 2011 04:07 AM PDTWhen Madison was around Muslims were at their "colonized" state. They were treating Westerns as "gods" no wonder he did not fear them. Now things are different.
As for venting I will educate people specially Americans to the dangers of Islam. It is my duty as American citizen to warn my adopted nation. I know what Islam did to Iran. I do not want it to happen to America. I may not be able to kick out the Mollahs out of Iran but I sure can warn Americans.
Re: Where was Islamophobia in 1979?
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Mar 18, 2011 04:03 AM PDTGood question! At that time Islam was actually respected. Why: because Muslims were behaving. At least in the West. Madison of course lived long before 1979 so he did not get to see the "modern" version of Islam.
What happened: Very simply: Islamic Republic; Taliban and AQ. They put the real Islamic doctrine to work. Prior to that true Islamic doctrine was mostly ignored by "Muslim" nations. Most nations from Iran to Turkey did not put Sharia in practice.
Then IRR came and showed people the real face of Islam. This was reinforced by Taliban and AQ not to mention our pals the Pals. Now it is common knowledge that Islam breeds terrorism and intolerance. Why do people have so much trouble with this.

Peter King is doing us all a favor by weeding out the bad. Better to get rid of the terrorists so regular Muslims are spared the hatred. When I fly I shudder if I see a someone with a Koran getting on the plane: with good reason. I don't shudder if it is a Jew; Christian; or Hari Krishnah.

James Madison would be horrified by Peter King
by Soosan Khanoom on Thu Mar 17, 2011 04:33 PM PDT" In his 1785 Notes on Virginia, Jefferson wrote: "It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." For making this dangerous statement, he was painted in broad strokes by self-righteous conservatives in 1800, as the confirmed atheist who, if elected president, would burn all Bibles. Their idea was: You’re not "one of us" if you question the right of Christian ministers to enforce a moral consensus -- that which sustains the illusion that the community can be kept safe by espousing the same or similar views. Fearful people look for comfort in the predictable, in simple formulations. That’s where enemies come in handy.
The same impulse led to the Japanese internment and drove Cold Warriors to see corrosive communism in families and in schools and in Hollywood. In some circles today, the term "social justice" has acquired a bad name, as an unsafe redistribution of wealth that could trickle down to foreign illegals. If it is possible to conceive that "social justice" is a threat, then American Muslims are easy pickings -- just look for the prayer rugs. "

Folks for the hundredth time: Islam is not a race. Stupidity is not confined to any race. We are not talking about Arabs; Japanese or any race. We are talking about a terrorist ideology. Now one minute later our good Liberal friends will scream their shrill cry "racist".

My Kind of Town
by Mola Nasredeen on Thu Mar 17, 2011 09:08 AM PDTChicago is.
This is the Chicago Suntimes editorial reaction to Peter King's hearings on American Muslims:
"We Americans, who believe ourselves a compassionate people, watch as the catastrophe of a powerful earthquake unfolds in Japan, and we only want to help. The Japanese are our friends, our allies.
Our president announces that the United States will do everything possible to assist the Japanese people, and we feel pride.
But it’s worth remembering, especially given the offensive congressional hearing on Islamic terrorism now playing out on Capitol Hill, that the Japanese were not always our friends and allies, nor in the eyes of too many Americans were they even fully human.
During World War II, they were the soulless “Japs” or “Nips,” savagely stereotyped by politicians and depicted as subhuman in pop culture. Japanese Americans, their loyalty questioned on the basis of nothing, were rounded up and held in detention camps.
We are a compassionate people, perhaps, but too often fearful and small-minded when the chips are down.
Rep. Peter King (R-New York) is running a sham of a congressional hearing that — by its very existence — tars and feathers all Muslims as disloyal.
Another generation of Americans will read about this shameful episode in our history, just as we read today about McCarthyism and Hollywood’s propaganda slurs against the very humanity of the Japanese.
When will we learn that our strength as a nation flows not from intolerance, but from great tolerance? "

Some here our so out of touch with reality that I sometimes think they are really smoking something !!
on my pervious blog on " Islamophobia " I mentioned that hate remarks that some make here is not going to help Iran or Iranians at all ....... Suppose you can deny your religion .. how can you deny your middle Eastern Look or as you mentioned the country that you are from? ........
What if one reads these hateful remarks and that adds to the fire of his hate and just goes in the street and run over who ever looks muslim to him? ...... Then are not those who makes these hateful remarks also responsible?
Suppose a fanatic and stupid radical muslim reads your hateful remarks on the religion and then becomes even more violent .... Are you not then adding to the flame ?...... I am actually communicating with some congressmen as we speak to make sure they also look into cyber bullying cases of those who are adding to the Islamophobia and hate and as the result are making this country less safe .......
It's not a gun-point or a camp any more.
by comments on Mon Mar 14, 2011 06:00 PM PDTWhen a minority is targeted they don't point a gun on you or force you in a camp any more. They triger the public anger towards "you" intentionally/unintentionally. Public judge you based on a general stereotyping usually your nationality. Why some races get hired easier than others? Why don't we review those Statistics? Only because of stupid interviews.
Warning.
by comments on Mon Mar 14, 2011 05:48 PM PDTI agree that the target is Islam now.
The main problem with the US government is that they usually don’t invest on prevention. Almost all funding goes to defence. Wasn’t this clear that fundamentalists from any religion could be dangerous to the society and abusive at home? Islam is targeted because of what happened in the last few years. They close their eyes to other religions now.
Solution is to provide some Psychiatry insurance and treat the fundamentalists. They don’t have to be discriminated, be traced and be found. They are clearly seen by people at prayer places and their kids’ schools. To those Islam haters: You are originally Iranians. That’s enough to be targeted. They don’t care what you really are or what you entered in your Census forms. Usually targeting a minority is so broad that you won’t even feel or understand it. How many people know there are some non-Muslims in Iran other than those who live in Iranian communities in LA?
Here is why
by Mola Nasredeen on Mon Mar 14, 2011 04:26 PM PDTOf the 161 terrorism cases since 2001, the initial source of information for 25 of them is not known. For another 16, law enforcement only learned about them after the attacks were carried out. "For the remaining 120 individuals, the largest single source of initial information (48 of 120 cases) involved tips from the Muslim-American community." The remaining 43 cases saw their initial information come from U.S. government investigations.

by Raoul1955 on Mon Mar 14, 2011 04:09 PM PDTI am disappointed by this piece as you could have easily seen the fallacy in the first paragraph:
"If King wants to help the FBI and other agencies get more help from Muslim-Americans than they have already been receiving, he would be better served by making American Muslims feel more at home in the United States, not less."
I want you to take a few deep breaths, then think just a little about the above statement and write back why it is to our detriment [culturally and otherwise] to make muslims 'feel at home' in America.
...
by Mola Nasredeen on Mon Mar 14, 2011 03:41 PM PDTIf King wants to help the FBI and other agencies get more help from Muslim-Americans than they have already been receiving, he would be better served by making American Muslims feel more at home in the United States, not less. Public hearings on radicalization among Muslims are very likely going to be counter-productive in encouraging increased cooperation with law enforcement.
Such public commissions will only reinforce a sense among many Muslim Americans that they, as a community, are under scrutiny because of the actions of a few. Those Muslims who have cooperated with law enforcement in countering extremist ideology are not likely to feel encouraged by these hearings, and those Muslims previously unwilling to work with law enforcement are unlikely to develop an increased comfort with the idea of doing so.
