You obviously didn't observe what I wrote to Demo a little earlier: "You will learn, the hard way, to behave and know your place."

So I do consider a place for muslims in future Iran. It's our tradition to tolerate everyone, even if they are a pain in the ass. But they will never be allowed to hog Iran again: Our laws and consititution, our flag, our calendar, our schools, etc, etc.

And we don't have more time and resources to comit to Islam's reformation. Lotfan az kisseye khaifeh nanbakhshid ... ma kheili aghab oftadim va besyar karhaye mohemtar darim.

اسلام دمو شیر بی یال و دم و اشکم است

خودت را خسته نکن دوربین خان که اسلام جناب دمو نه قطع دست و پا دارد و نه کافر را می کشد و نه حق زن را کمتر از مرد می داند. همانطور که فرامرز گفت با این حساب خود پیغمبر اسلام هم اسلام درست و حسابی نداشته. تنها چیزی که دمو انکار نمی کند اجنه است که آن هم تا آنجا که من فهمیده ام به این دلیل است که ایشان در آمدش از طریق جن گیری و دعا نویسی است.

I don't think so Doorbin

I was once like you, and saw the only way out of this mess as being the total removal of Islam from Iran.  But while that goal is admirable, it is just not practical.  It will never happen.  The best way to approach this is to reform the religion, and make it a more tolerant version of itself.  That will NOT happen overnight.  It will probably take a generation or two--but it may happen.  

I actually think that while the "Arab speing" may have resulted in a larger involvement of Islamist groups in the region's governments, it may have the beneficial effect of forcing these Islamist groups--which have always been in isolation, and therefore able to chant slogans and run their mouths with impunity--into taking responsibility and being a part of a representative government.  And that, in my opinion, is actually a good step toward modernizing these Neanderthals.   And modernize, they eventually will.  Just look at Egyot.  Have you seen them ban alcohol?  No, and it will never happen.  because if it does, they will have to explain the drop in tourism--their single largest source of income--to their people.

I think that dvocating "real Islam" is a losing argument.  It's kind of like advocating "real Judaism," or "real Christianity," which are just as backward and violent.  i think that a more innovative and effective solution would be to advocate "reformed Islam," a version which dimisses old violent and intolerant teachings of the religion--which let's face it, it's full of, just like Judaism and Christianity are--and puts emphasis on the moderate aspects of the religion.  It's actually what you have been trying to do for a long time--but framed differently.  It's been quite successful with Christianity and Judasim.  Now's it's Islam's time.

In any case, just happy to see muslims (real or otherwise) losing their base for claiming Iran as their own.

"Demo" has been trying to say it repeatedly that IRI doesn't represent the true Islam for the past 3 years & beyond! But nobody seems reading them right! Now let's make it clear for the last time. if there are only 1% of true believers in IRAN, IRI is not part of it. Got it now?

Who says 90% of Iranians are muslim? IRI or the morons who use IRI as a source?

Has there been a recent poll by a credible research organization to establish this fact or is it part of the old "Doroogh-e Bozorg" that you're trying to perpetuate?

Iranian muslims (especially outside the country) are a rapdily shrinking minority. According to Wiki, among Iranian-Americans, muslims currently stand at 40%. And I'm certain most of them are secular.

I bet you'd get the same picture, if not worse, if Iranians inside the country were properly asked what religion they follow. Migi nah, let's have a referendum.  

Bottom line: Iran is no longer an Islamic nation (never was really), hence IRI, or any government that claims such things, is no longer relevant or legal.
