In their first East Coast appearance, Kiosk performed in an intimate setting at Johnny D’s Uptown Restaurant & Music Club in Somerville, MA. The 2-day event was sponsored by the Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University and the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University, and featured a panel discussion with Kiosk members on Iranian Underground Music moderated by historian Dr. Naghmeh Sohrabi. “Ay Yarom Biya” is a popular song from Tajikistan that was made famous by the late great Tajik musician Mubaraksha . This is Kiosk’s tribute to Mubaraksha.
