Miss Ireland Rosanna Davison (R), Miss Canada Nazanin
Afshin-Jam (C) and Miss England Jacqueline Turner (L) climb the Great Wall
of China near Beijing, during a promotional tour of the capital,
on November 19, 2003. Nineteen-year-old Rosanna, daughter of
singer Chris de Burgh, was crowned Miss World in Communist China's
first international beauty pageant on December 6, an event that
would have once been branded a heretical display of western decadence.
Miss Canada Afshin-Jam came in second place. Picture taken November
