Faramarz Aslani is the most unheralded and under appreciated Iranian artist. He clearly stands out from the pack of Iranian songwriters and musicians, with his lyrical brilliance and eclectic tunes. Although he's had very few commercial albums, he has managed to attract the masses to his potent and heart-felt music. I have had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions and that was just the 'icing on the cake'. He was an absolute gentleman and an incredible wealth of knowledge and poetry.
