Maestro Lotfi in southern California
The program at UCI (University of California, Irvine, July, 16, 2005) started
with his Ostad Mohammad Reza Lotfi's son, Omid, improvising on
Setar which was a new phenomena.
Then the maestro did an improvisation of Tar accompanied with
Tombak and Daf of Mehrdad Arabi. After intermission Ostad Lotfi
improvised on Setar. And at the end Omid Lotfi and Arabi played
Daf while Ostad Lotfi himself masterfully played Kamancheh (spiked
fiddle).
