For a pseudo-exiled Iranian, Turkey is the next best
thing to Iran. It surprises most people when they find out that,
despite my fervent patriotism, I have never been to Iran. My family
was forced to
leave six years after the revolution due to their religion.
Half my family at least. I am twenty-years old and until two weeks
ago had never met my Baba or two younger brothers. After years
of emails, webcams, letters
and gifts that didn't make it half the time, we all had passports,
papers and citizenships in order and were able to meet. I spent
fifteen days in Istanbul with my father and one younger brother.
This is a small collection of the over 400 photographs I took while
in Turkey.
I spent the last two weeks in Turkey with
my baba and one of my younger brothers. Out of over four hundred
photographs this is my favorite... my baba and I at a cafe by
the water
