LOS ANGELES (CBS on the Web) -- The city that popularized the fast food drive-thru has a new innovation: 24-hour medical marijuana vending machines. Patients suffering from chronic pain, loss of appetite and other ailments that marijuana is said to alleviate can get their pot with a dose of convenience at the Herbal Nutrition Center, where a large machine will dole out the drug around the clock. "Convenient access, lower prices, safety, anonymity," inventor and owner Vincent Mehdizadeh said, extolling the benefits of the machine. But federal drug agents say the invention may need unplugging. "Somebody owns (it), it's on a property and somebody fills it," said DEA Special Agent Jose Martinez. "Once we find out where it's at, we'll look into it and see if they're violating laws." At least three dispensaries in the city, including two belonging to Mehdizadeh, have installed vending machines to distribute the drug to people who carry cards authorizing marijuana use. Mehdizadeh said he spent seven months to develop and patent the black, armored box, which he calls the "PVM," or prescription vending machine.

Vincent Mehdizadeh
by Dariush_Mazaheri on Wed May 05, 2010 02:03 PM PDTI too was a client of the Law Office of Thomas R. Lee. I found Vincent to be an intelligent, motivated, and "outside-the-box" thinker that allowed for my case to ulitimately be successful. I can say that I had a good experience with that law office. I kept in touch with that office after my case was resolved and was informed that the Attorney Vincent was working with, ended up retiring and clients were upset by this. I know VIncent personally and this should not reflect poorly on him or his achievements.
From what I understand, the machine he invented is going to be mass-produced for walgreen's and walmart for use with traditional pharmaceutical refills for drugs like Propecia, Viagra, etc. Information on Vincent and his company can be found at www.prescriptionvendingmachines.net
Wonderful for older cancer patients
by Maria (not verified) on Sun May 17, 2009 09:15 PM PDTI think this is a wonderful invention. I have had a few family members pass away from disease and were prescribed marijuana in pill form to encourage eating, but the pill caused a little nausea. Sadly they were encouraged to smoke with a vaporizer and they did so, but were very embarrassed. I love the idea of the vending machine but am worried of theft or violence. I would like more information on the PVM's because it is something that I would support and push for in the city of San francisco. If anyone has any information at all please email me mariiduena@aol.com
Due to these major tragedies my older brother stopped his career and went back to college and became a Doctor to help with pharmacy/legal drugs to help with pain in cancer, alzheimer, and allergy sufferers.
