Former president Mohammad Khatami says for more than hundred years, the Iranian people have been paying heavy prices for freedom, independence, and prosperity and having control over their fate. "Release the detained students as well as the other political prisoners and return the safe environment for dialogue to the universities."

As I recall when this guy was minister of islamic guidance or what ever his title was he didn't lift one finger to stop the torture of the poet Saeeidi Sirjani and destruction of his poetry books. (IRI openness for you) Then when he became president of IRR he crushed studenets movements  brutualy. 18 tir, does it ring abell? now he is lecturing us about 100 year struggle,freedom, independence,  to be calm, and the usuall chert o pert. Is any body really that stupid to fall for this guy for second or third time?

What a bold-faced Islamist liar he is. Not only he has been advocating the rescuing of the Islamist Rapist Republic, he is on the record saying “in Iran we neither want nor can accept secularism”.

And he has the Islamist gall to talk about Iranians’ fight for achieving self-determination which he already precludes a major choice in such fight?
