Interesting and very realistic dialogue. A man and his wife, aboard a motorcycle with their two-year old child, are talking about abortion. The woman wants to terminate her pregnancy but the man won't hear of it. Directed by Mania Akbari.

This is a great clip, but
by farrad02 on Tue Jan 27, 2009 05:08 PM PSTI think the logistics of making this sequence must have been breath-taking and apparently they did it with little or no retakes! What concerned me was the well-being of the child used in this sequence! I would never let my kid be used in such dangerous manner! You could tell the kid was rattled right before she got off the motor-cycle, and then in the car, mainly because of all the shouting and cursing!
Nevertheless, the sequence is very original and very, very well done!
Irresponsible parents, if you ask me
by Mehdi on Tue Jan 27, 2009 09:04 AM PSTWe are told to feel sorry for the woman or man (depending on who wants the abortion); we are told that it is someone's "choice." But this is ignoring the fact that the parent(s) who want the abortion is simply not willing to take responsibility for their actions. The question isn't if abortion should be allowed or not, the question is why should someone get to a point where he/she has to make such a decision?
Beest Angosht (fingers and toes)
by Saman on Tue Jan 27, 2009 07:03 AM PSTThis is film made by Mania Akbari (2004). She's a cancer survivor and the actress in the film.
The Persian title is actually "Beest Angosht" counting fingers and toes! However in English translation it comes out a little freaky with 20 fingers.
