Soliloquy: so·lilo·quy

by Hassan Danesh (not verified) on

...It means the gas and oil well has reached light and from there on the Iranian must stand on their own without gas and oil revenue and to endure the hardship while selp-slapping themselves to keep themselves look strong and resilient like a brave and pride worrior.

It is time to sleep...

Thank you! I hadn't thought of the separation isssue.

I haven't been to any weddings except my own in Iran and that was a few years ago! Of course Iranian weddings I#ve been to here have been great but there weren't the kind of segregation issues or restrictions even if they were islamic.

We have many nieces and nephews in Iran and Im sure when we get back I will get the opportunity.

Many thanks again!  Javaneh

Except for wedding celebrations catering to men and women in separate rooms, all Iranian wedding parties are "underground," as in illegal.

It is illegal in Iran for men and women to be in any kind of party where Islamic code of conduct, inluding but not limited to hejab, is not observed. Parties with live music, men and women dancing together, and drinking are all against the law. Weddings are no exception. Legally permitted weddings usually happen in two separate rooms of the same establishment, with women in one room and men in the other. Any and all weddings such as the one in the video, therefore, are held secretly or through "special arrangement" with local police who in return for a sum of money, safeguard the peace of the celebration, keeping it from raids. Even so, many wedding parties are raided regularly, resulting in the arrest of guests.

Basements such as the one shown in the clip are now fourishing in utility, in order to accommodate a nation of mashallah young people who are getting married by leaps and bounds!

Minority religious groups have their own wedding halls and are allowed to celebrate openly and without fear. Iranians are a most resilient nation, figuring out ways of dealing with obstacles they find unacceptable. When you visit Iran, if ever you are invited to a wedding, don't hesitate to accept and attend, as Iranians have some of the best weddings in the world, as I'm sure you know!

These happen all the time in

by weddingvid (not verified) on

These happen all the time in Iran. I went to a wedding in parking of a house that was located right next door to the sepa office. hahaha. Of course they had been paid off well in advance so they did not say anything. How sad for the youth of Iran that they must celebrate a great day of joy in their lives underground and hidden because of "islamic rule".

what is the suspicion about?

by javaneh29 on

Omg ... I am so fed up with the suspsiciousness  on this site.

I was genuinely asking. I havent lived in iran since 79. I dont know why. I am trying to gain knowledge. If i appear stupid ... I can assure you I am not. I can not apologise for not knowing something I dont know.

I cant believe it is because ppl cant celebrate a marriage? so for what reason .... to drink alchohol?

Is your question an attempt at humor or are you really asking?  just curious!

Hello Javaneh!!

It amazes me how some people after 30 years since the revolution are still questioning (excuse my language) such stupid questions.

Wake up khanom tahsil kardeh and see the real world of IRI.

those who did not deserted

by sickened (not verified) on

those who did not deserted as the times were hard and now enjoy their achievments during the last 30 years, will throw away also these tiny rest of western decadenze. Greeting

Wow, you're truly a reprsentative of religion of peace. What's next? You're going to behead those who celebrate the New Year, Char-shanbeh-souri, Shab-e-Yalda, and so on...?

You can only celebrate stoning, maiming, pedophilia, torturing and raping virgins? Are you proud of your non-decadent,hate-filled culture? Is that how you rejoice and celebrate? Violence and bloodlust are your creed and brutality is in your nature.

You sir are a abomination to your relgion.

Keep the fires burning

by Suomynona on

Loved the video, even though its sad to see people have to resort to 'underground' weddings in order to celebrate, still, it's a sign that the joyful spirit of people is alive and well.

Very timely posting on this 'Sadeh' anniversary. Keep the fires of joy and celebration burning. This long night shall come to an end also.

Underground wedding "How it works in Iran"........

by Faribors Maleknasri M.D. (not verified) on

I recommend: Be aware and give it up people. Give it up in the sake of God and on behalf of your own mental health give it up. It works only for a short video for "Iranian". Iranians in contrary would declare that area as impure. Then will undautedly follow the consequences. No U BA MA no western democracy alla Irak or afghanistan would help. The day will come on which all Iranians those honorable Poeple who live in their Islamic Republic, those who did not deserted as the times were hard and now enjoy their achievments during the last 30 years, will throw away also these tiny rest of western decadenze. Greeting
