Clerics Using Prophecy for self serving agendas...
by faryarm on Tue Jul 28, 2009 07:53 AM PDTUsing Prophecy for self serving agendas...
Clerics, no matter what kind, have been responsible for interpreting, adding and corrupting scripture to suite their needs, whether it was in the 16th, 17, 18, 19 , 20, or this century.
They have largely been the cause of ignorance, superstition, dogma, empty ritual, division and hatred between religions.
The Bible might point to a dark period, but we dont need these profesional religious TV Partisans to realize the mess the whole world is is in and, what might be round the corner if corrupt and brutal leaders like the ones in power get hold of a tactical Nuclear missile or two.
The Good news is, ordinary people can and will make a difference and our brothers and sisters in iran are daily demonstrating that courage to rid themselves of the "influences of an antiquated, a fanatical, and outrageously corrupt clergy"*

Theses guys are nuts!!!
by Benyamin on Tue Jul 28, 2009 07:00 AM PDTThat happens to any institutionalized religion, because everything is based on "assumption" since no one really is in contact with "god" and therefore "assumptions" run wild at the end.
I am embarressed for theses guys.
Religious bullshit!!
by Kamran Ramyar on Tue Jul 28, 2009 06:03 AM PDTEnough of this religious fanatics and the bull-shit they constantly spurt out!
Even if you aren't Muslims
by ex programmer craig on Tue Jul 28, 2009 04:45 AM PDTIranians should know Ezekiel. Come on folks... I see Iranians bragging about how Cyrus the Great freed the Jews ALL THE TIME on this website.
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Ezekiel
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylonian_captivity
The Babylonian captivity had a number of serious effects on Judaism and the Jewish culture, including changes to the Hebrew alphabet and changes in the fundamental practices and customs of the Jewish religion. This period saw the last high-point of Biblical prophecy in the person of Ezekiel, followed by the emergence of the central role of the Torah in Jewish life.[4] This process coincided with the emergence of scribes and sages as Jewish leaders (see Ezra and the Pharisees).
The exile to Babylon was a traumatic event in Jewish history, as the
destruction of the political independence of the kingdom coincided with
the destruction of the monarchy and of the First Temple of Jerusalem. Prior to this, several deportations of Judaean nobility and leading citizens occurred.[3] After the overthrow of Babylonia by the Persian Empire, the Persian ruler Cyrus the Great gave Jews permission to return to their homeland in 537 BCE, and more than 40,000 are said to have returned, as noted in the Biblical accounts of Jehoiakim, Ezra, and Nehemiah.
No Muslims here?
by ex programmer craig on Tue Jul 28, 2009 04:29 AM PDTThese beliefs are also part of Islam. Just saying :P
Not (specifically) Christian
by ex programmer craig on Tue Jul 28, 2009 04:26 AM PDTThey are discussing the book of Ezekiel, which is from Judaism. If they were getting into Christian scripture they'd have been talking about Revelations.
Luke I am your father, join the dark side!

I guess instead of da vinci code we might have Kamal ol Molk Code somewhere!

by choghok on Tue Jul 28, 2009 04:09 AM PDTWhere can I see the movie they are talking about.. Sounds like something like Star Wars.
What imbeciles!
by Princess on Tue Jul 28, 2009 04:20 AM PDT... and I thought the mullah's were bad. (sigh...) It would almost be funny if it wasn't so outragous to see these morons become Iran experts based on the long tales of the bible. The best part is the back-handed compliment: "Iranians/Persians are very smart."
No shit Sherlock! Just think how many people watch and buy into this crap.
