The shah, the demonstrators, the spy

Reenactment of demonstration against Mohammad Reza Shah, Berlin, June 2, 1967

This video is a clip from: "Der Baader Meinhof Komplex". At the end of the video you can see how the German police officer Karl-Heinz Kurras is killing the unarmed student Benno Ohnesorg, who was recently discovered to have been a spy. Here's an article about the story in the New York Times.

Shahanshah AryaGooooooz

by wgm1919 on

The troubles we have in iran today (and will have for a long time to come), are becasue of the coup in 1953 which brought this idiot (Aryagooooz) to power. Since that time, people did not develop politically, and remained numb to the events and politics of their own nation. The outcome is what we have on our hands now.

God burn this gooooz in hell (along with the people who brought him to power -- CIA+MI5).

long live Shah Khamenii.

by Alborzi (not verified) on

The comments show the IRI even though in name it is not a monarchy it really is. As an IRI agent I should know, long live Shah Khamenii. Maybe Shah had better taste in women, especially Soraya was great, oh well.

shame

by bikar (not verified) on

From the comments I have read seems you all agree with what is happening in Iran is ok, because it happened then? It is the shame that some people do not have back bone and only interested in their own bank accounts and their real estate holdings in Iran.

I am confused need some explaination

by confused (not verified) on

I am confused. Can anybody tell me why German police didn't stop supporters of shah when they started attacking protesters?
Was demostration illigal at that time in Germany? Why police was so cruel and brutal to the protesters?
I thought Germany is a democratic country. How come police has such a power to beat and kill the people?

Watched it recently; Salted my wounds

by ordinary Iranian (not verified) on

Bunch of rich "intellectuals" who ruined lives of ordinary people all around the world during 60's and 70's. The 79 revolution was a gift offered by their Iranian comrades and a bunch of opportunists who happen to be very "political-trend-conscious".
And then karma brought these intellectuals and their children; wandering around the world pumping gas and waiting tables instead, not to mention the prison and executions. Noosh-e Jaan.

The pre-revolution Iran was too good to be true and WE definitely did not deserve it.

This is An Excellent Film

by Darius Kadivar on

I highly recommend anyone interested in the political and international climate of the late 1960's and 1970's and the rise of German and Italian Baader Meinhoff /Red Brigade Terrorist groups to watch this film.

It truly offers an objective insight into this troubled period and I was actually very much surprised by the good acting and genuinely accurate depiction of a troubled period  in European and Middle Eastern history. It reminded me of Steven Spielberg's Munich.

The Germans have recently discovered that the policeman who shot the Iranian student was a STASI agent (think it was deathbed confession).
