AFP: Hardline incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won a landslide victory in Iran's hotly-disputed presidential vote, according to official results on Saturday that triggered mass opposition protests and furious complaints of cheating from his defeated rivals. Riot police clashed with protestors in unrest not seen for a decade as thousands of supporters of main challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi took to the streets shouting "Down with the Dictator" after final results showed Ahmadinejad winning almost 63 percent of the vote. Moderate ex-premier Mousavi cried foul over election irregularities and warned the vote could lead to "tyranny," as some of his supporters were beaten by baton-wielding police. >>>

Just like everything that
by zebel20 on Sun Jun 14, 2009 07:52 AM PDTJust like everything that happens in America is countable as a conspiracy theory, everything that you say is countable as nothing more but speculation and a conspiracy theory.
There are no evidence over your claim but there are hard evidence over the twin tower incident, there are the dirty ones and the true source for terrorism.
I have a suggestion for you, if you are living in America, why don’t you write a blog about crimes committed by the Americans all around the world.
You are the victim of the media and propaganda. Now I don’t have a religious background so don’t think that’s the reason why I am against your opinion, and I have been living in the uk since I was 14, but I have a brain, my eyes are wide open and I can see what they are trying to do with my great nation of iran.
You see, the same people who put saddam in to power, the same people who armed saddam with chemical weapons to use against us Iranians, and the same people who removed him from power, labelling him a dictator, as he was one.
now these are the same poeple who wants to do the same to us, turn our country to a desert as they have done so in iraq lond time a go and keeping it that way, allways on our knees and so on.

Human Rights!
by Sassan (not verified) on Sun Jun 14, 2009 03:29 AM PDTWhere is that pro-Palestinian swine, Jimmy Carter, to cry "human rights" when you really need him? Where is that phony?!!!
May this be the beginning of the end of the second invasion of Iran by Arabs! Don't be surprised if the dirty akhunds bring in their Palestinian sharp-shooters to kill some poor Iranian youths, the way that Khomeini imported Palestinians to shoot innocent Iranians at meydoon jaleh in September of 1978 or when Khomeini brought in Palestinians to set fire on Cinema Rex in August of 1978.
This is the regime's famous and repeated strategy -- to bring in foreigners (primarily Arabs, who already hate Iranians) to kill innocent Iranians so as to stay in power and RAPE Iran!

Khomeini and IRI honors free speech ... leading to execution of thousand upon thousands who did speak ... Second time
Khatami and "Jameye madani" and "free speech" .. lead to killings of intellectuals, newspaper closures, university students imprisonments and more executions. ... Third time.
AhmadiNejad and Oil money and better economic conditions ... lead to better economic conditions for his relatives and close friends and more imprisonment and executions ... Fourth time.
Mosavi, Karubi, Rezaie, Khameni, Ahmadi Nejad .. cast your vote for IRI and better economical conditions ... lead to video clips above ... Fifth time ...
Will I live long enought to see Iranians understand true islam and what islam has created in Iran .... I don't think so ... I am sure there will be 6th, 7th and nth time fooled by IRI generations. Honar momkeneh nazd-e Irani-ha bashe vali "common sense" nist.

Those people that believe this was another Velvete revolution:
by Benyamin on Sat Jun 13, 2009 04:22 PM PDTIt is crazy to compare what our youth in Iran experience and what we experience in the West. If there is democracy in the West or not is not the issue. The issue is Iran and what just went on. The youth in Iran have every right to be angry and show their anger after all there is not much to do or hope for. Hope is the single most important reason everyone gets up in the morning and yet the IRI decided to crush it by cheating. As someone said on BBC it doesnot matter who won or lost it matters how they lost or won. Even Ahmadinejads own supporters have been dishonoured by the rigged elections and been disrispected. Whoever that believes Ahmadinejad should be in power and no one has the right to challenge it is committing the act of treason.
why do you compare with the West all the time, why not having a better and more honest system than the west? don`t you believe in youirself? don`t you believe that you deserve better than the West? can`t you hold better and more fair and more free elections? or you think people in Iran don`t deserve it? or you think you will lose control? are you afraid of people of Iran? and why? are not IRANIANS?
Those that believe this was another Velvete revolution are just on Crack like the ones that were counting the ballets
FYI/Reza Pahlavi's Statement on the Latest Developments
by Darius Kadivar on Sat Jun 13, 2009 04:25 PM PDTReza Pahlavi of Iran’s Statement on the Latest Developments in Iran
//www.rezapahlavi.org/press/?english&id=353
Saturday, June 13th, 2009
Today the world is witnessing the demonstrated anger of millions of Iranians against a regime that denies their most basic rights, including the right to choose leaders who could improve their abysmal condition. There is no exit from this condition, so long as one man appropriates onto himself the “power of god” and controls the judiciary, the media, the security forces and, through direct and indirect appointees dictates the only candidates claiming to represent an impoverished and disenfranchised people.
Today I stand united with my fellow Iranians and call for the end of the Islamic Republic, or any other prefix in front of the name of my beloved Iran that indicates theocracy or any other form of disregard for democratic and human rights.
I caution the world that offering any incentives or “carrots” to the theocracy under these circumstances is an affront to the people of Iran. This is not a time for short-sighted, self-defeating tactical games. This is the time for the free world to stand true to its principals and support the people of Iran’s quest for democracy and human rights.
Election was a fraud! IRI is fraud! Murders in charge of IRI!!
by gol-dust on Sat Jun 13, 2009 03:16 PM PDTThe whole thing was a PR for IRI! Remeber, before the election, Khamenei asked people just to go and vote, regardless of whom they vote for, so they could show to the world that IRI is a democracy! Remember that? so he really meant what he said, but the people were so naiev belieiving that there was a real democracy!
AKHNUDS ARE NO.1 DICTATORS! I hope the US doesn't say anything about the elections that they were rigged, since they have no ligitimacy and credibility in this area. After all, the leader of the "free world" was elected in Florida with the same tactics that Ahmadinejad was elected(with different ristrictions.)
Isreal, you'd better stay out of our problem, you f...ing ass! Israel love to have the bugyman Ahmadinejad! Down with IRI and Israel!

by Guessewho... (not verified) on Sat Jun 13, 2009 01:29 PM PDTIranian have far more democracy and freedom than we do here in the US. Some people think democracy is doing whatever you please, and there is no such thing anywhere in the world. Without rules and guidelines socities fall apart and there are people in this world that like to beneift from seeing Iran's system fall apart. I think the youth in Iran should watch less hollywood and more of documentaries like "The weather underground" to better understand Freedom or democracy. They should learn about the business foodchanin, the role of the church in the west, John Lennon, the 60's and early 70's in general before they take to the streets of north Tehran.

It is happening...
by Benyamin on Sat Jun 13, 2009 12:44 PM PDTI said it before on here that a larger war/fight is between SeydAli and Rafsanjani I believe there is only one way to end the IRI grip on Iran and that is millitary coup!!!
The Pasdaran are an armed group ready to kill thier own people thinking they will go to heaven that means they wont think twice shoot to kill as they have done it in the past. So then only option is a bloody coup by the Artesh or national army of Iran. I have served in Iran airforce and I know that Iran`s artesh is by far the most powerful army in iran and that Baseej and Sepaah combined arenot able to stand against the Artesh. I believe that a Millitary coup isnot far. if Sepaah makes the mistake and step forward the very first thing that happens is some of Artesh "retired commanders" have more moral authority than the leader of Iran on the Artesh. Anyone that has ever been in Artesh after the revolution would tell you that.
Why do I think it is very possible?
Because SeydAli has decided that he is a more important leader for the Islamic revolution than Khomeini was. It is the same as Stalin taking the drection of comunism and change to whatever he thought should be and he did it, the only difference is that SeydAli does not have that moral authority as he obviously miscalculated. He is facing powerful people like Rafsanjani and Mousavi which I think as days go by is getting more powerful if he(mousavi) plays his cards right. When it comes to Artesh they wont allow bunch of Sepaahi or Baseeji to take over the country. If you don`t know I can informe you that Artesh hates Sepaah and Baseej since the IRI has mostly favoured them and recognised only thier sacrifices and not much of Artesh. I believe that SeydAli made a big mistake and he is becoming the most hated person in Iran`s history if he doesn`t fix this problem.
I know some Artesh commanders that still respect Shah over the IRI leaders, shocking but true.
What do you expect?

by RocketScientist (not verified) on Sat Jun 13, 2009 10:22 AM PDTAhmadinejad clearly demonstrated superior intelligence and experience over all aspects of running a government. A segment of Iran's youth (mainly in north Tehran) is clearly exploited to push the agenda of special interest groups, all of whom could care less about iran's advancement and prosperity. To the contrary they want to live their fat happy lives at the expense of Iran.
These guys should be allowed to say as they please, but given their limited know how (including their leaders, Mr. Chiz himself), if they get out of hand and even think about causing problems that extends beyond voicing their opinion for their limited cause, Iran's government would be flat our stupid to not resort to dispersing them or even curshing them with an Iron fist.
It for the long term well being of Iran and it's for the pure purpose of keeping the foreign enemies arms out of Iran's pockets.

"A crowd of about 3,000 attacked the police, some of whom were on motorbikes, which they set on fire.
The sky was thick with black smoke. Police attacked the crowd with sticks and maybe teargas.
I didn't expect to see people turning on the secret police. We were filming when we were surrounded by angry secret policemen. The crowd turned on them and chased them off.
I suspect we are not looking at a revolution but there is serious anger.
It all depends on how the government responds - if they use violence, that could inflame the situation."

color revolution in Iran??!!!
by Kurush (not verified) on Sat Jun 13, 2009 10:15 AM PDTAs I have posted elsewhere today, the BIG QUESTION is not IF there was voting fraud, rather, Why a color revolution/coup???
The color revolutions were hatched & masterminded by the Western thugs to turn the former Soviet states into Western satellites, as in Ukrain, to encircle Russia with hostile, pro-Western states. If the Moussavi camp was confident about their certain victory, why would they want to turn a normal presidential election into a 'green' soft revolution? THAT IS THE BIG QUESTION! I mean they would have their candidate, Moussavi, in the office, anyway. Was that not enough for them??? And Why not?? All telltale signs of a color revolution were there in an astonishing, highly organized way: wearing green, pouring into streets, making human chain, etc. If Moussavi was guranteed to win, why resort to a Western style color green soft coup? Who was trying to subvert a normal presidentail election into soft coup? Given the constant ultimatums our dear country has been issued by the West & its Zionist lapdaog, this is tantamount to treason & sedition. The authorities in Iran have every right to be concerned & to prosecute if the treasonous elements get out of line. If you love your country, you should never yield to your base instincts & cause riots, perhaps a civil war. Who would benefit from that? The Western thugs.
