Modern Iran should not be crushed

Zbigniew Brzezinski on Iran

After Khamenei's speech in defense of election results. Takes on Republicans *and* Democrats who are criticizing Obama, saying they're playing into Ahmadinejad's hands.

Evil is his game!

by Sassan (not verified) on

This SOB, this "Dr." Brezinski, is the most evil man in the history of Iran insofar as the 20th century is concerned, right after mullah Khomeini. Him and his bastard boss, Jimmy Peanuts, sacrificed Iran for so many wrong reasons.

This piece of dog doodoo from Poland hated the Soviets so much for what the Russians did to his homeland after WWII, so he basically used Afghanistan to bleed the Russians, and used the akhunds in Iran as a pretext to not only safeguard Persian Gulf oil from Soviet aggression, but to take Iran back a hundred years and create a situation where cheap oil would flow like it did pre-1973.

Thus, by wrapping Iran with the "green belt" of Islam (a theory originally created by the celebrated British Jew, Bernard Lewis), they could achieve ALL of their goals (cheap oil, destruction of a modernizing Iran, curbing Soviet threat) with ONE MOVE: removal of the Shah/installation of the akhunds!

And now, he's back for more!
Evil never dies!

Confrontation, escalation and WARRRR...

Zbig is spot on. That is EXACTLY what the neo-con chicken hawks, Likudniks, Shahollahis and every enemy of Iran is longing for.

One of Carter's biggest achievements was to make Human Rights an important part of the US foreign policy. Of course it led to Shah's demise. I can't imagine an outcome better than that.

It is also a fact that "erteja' syaah" stole the Iranian revolution and replace it with a reactionary and despotic regime, but Carter's original achievement of enabling the Iranians to get rick of the Pahlavi crowd and all their hangers on leaches and parasites was a noble cause.

the students be crushd by linking them to the US &israel. Israel, as it was stated by Lieberman from Israel, wants Ahmaghinejad to be selected so they have an alibi to do what they always wanted to do.

it would be hard for israel to attack Iran if Mousavi is elelcted! They need an evil face to scare off people, and ahmaghinejad makes a good bugyman! Mousavi is a bad news for Israel! You would think not, but it is. for one reason in foreign policy he still wants to ensue the nuclear technology.

Zbigniew Brzezinski, HE must Shut his mouth about Iran. by talking into the media, trying to get Yazdi (Spy) killed since he has been arrested very recently. Yazdi is the old fart who knows TOO MUCH !

Brzezinski should just shut up

by Kaveh Nouraee on

This miserable prick and his horse-toothed master Jimmy Carter helped to create the environment for these mollahs to come in there and destroy Iran.

They goozed nonstop about the Shah's supposed human rights abuses, and yet have remained silent while the mollahs have killed countless Iranians. Compared to these thugs, the Shah was a Boy Scout, and SAVAK was The Little Rascals.

The blood shed over the past 30 years is on his hands as well.

Except Bavafa.   You go on respecting him.

He speaks as if he is the ONE person concerned about Iranian lives.   This idiot was one of the elements who implemented (he is too stupid to have planned it) Iran's Revolution, under the premises of Human Right abuses under the Shah.   Has anyone heared him, especialy you Mr. Bavafa, once talk about human right conditions in Iran ?   That is the proof I needed to make my mind up about him and the likes of him.

Treason...

by Bijan A M on

This bigot, idiot, old fart has not given up on his Islamic belt idea after so many years. How shameless to downplay and belittle the aspirations of millions for freedom. His act of “avaam faribi” (public deception) is a crime against humanity. Smart analyst , my ass. To silence or derail support for this movement because of FEAR of brutal suppression by IRI, is the ultimate act of betrayal and deception.

Thank you Misters Khadivar, Yassari and Ayatoilet, you have said it best.

As an agent of IRI, I must tell you, Khamenei would love for McCain to be president and say the shit and Khamenei execute the demonstrators as the agents of USA.
In fact there is nothing to say, if you are not going to back it up (remember the Kurds and Shites after the first Persian Gulf war, spare us the support ).
On The Other Hand (OTOH), this a battle since the beginning of revolution, between Liberals and Fanatics. Its Khatami all over again and IRI will lose legitimacy more. They were beginning to become respectable. Oh well, its been a great ride.

I am sorry you are right but you old fool by you giving your opining like that, you already condemned those kids to what you just mentioned to a dog days of summer . Why don’t you guys stay quiet for a while and work behind the sceens. You guys have no idea of Iran and its people for thirty years you were wrong, the first time and you are wrong now.

aaminian

Tehran Is Not Iran!

by aaminian on

True that, true that but the protests are NOT limited to Tehran, Mr. Brzezinsky.  Of the ~30-killed Iranians only about 10 were from Tehran. All major Iranian cities have had full days of unrest since the fraudulent elections about a week ago.  And, by the way, Tehran is not a city of 7 million people; Tehran's population is more like 14 million.

I have to agree with one thing you said though:  America should NOT interfere (as President Obama mentioned a few days ago...) in Iran's internal affairs this time as it has done so for the past 70 years.  Any chances of reform (read "IRI Destruction"!) will die with any kind of foreign interference;  let us NOT forget what brought these people to power some 30 years ago (1953 US-master-minded coup d'état).

Mehrban

I don't understand

by Mehrban on

There have been demonstrations in Shiraz, Isfahan, Sari, Bandar Abas,....why does he say the pictures of last few days are the "Iran of Tehran"?  and thereby down play their importance.

I also find his remarks condesending towards the demonstrators as he talks about their fashionable sunglasses but not the huge risks they have taken on in going out to the streets of Iran to express their desire for freedom and fairness of elections.

This is an irresponsible portrayal of dissent in Iran.

PS.  Mr Yassari, I had not seen your comment before posting mine, with your permission I will leave it in its original format.

Javad Yassari

Reminds me of "Baazam migi navareh?!!"

by Javad Yassari on

I absolutely think the US should stay out of this.  Their support of the movement would make it easy for the goons and thugs to crack down on innocent and brave Iranians even harder.

However, all those who believe, support, and respect what this guy is saying are mistaken.  Says who the protests are only happening among sun glass wearing women in uptown Tehran?  Are you kidding me?  It's way, way past this guy's retirement and whoever is paying him to say these things wants to send his message to others to discredit the Iranian people's movement.

Go here and look a protests in Bandar Abbas, Isfahan, Shiraz, Sari, Kerman, Oroumiyeh, Yazd, Qazvin, Rasht, and Mashad.  We can't see footage from Fouman on YouTube, but it doesn't mean that protests were not some of the bloodiest in Northern Iran.

At this time you should be wondering what kind of game this man is playing and who is paying for it.

House Passes Iran Election Resolution

//www.redstate.com/absentee/2009/06/19/house-passes-iran-election-resolution/

The House today voted to support Iranian dissidents and “all Iranians who embrace the values of freedom, human rights, civil liberties and the rule of law.” The resolution
(H Res 560) passed with 405 yea votes and only one nay, and two members voting present.

Representatives emphasized today, this has nothing to do with supporting Mousavi. In fact it offers no commentary on Mousavi whatsoever. This resolution is about supporting the cause of freedom. As Congressman Pence stated “The cause of America is freedom.”

REPEATED LIES

by Ayatoilet (not verified) on

This interview is such a revelation, listen to his every word and every sentence. After all Zbigniew Brzezinski is a Jimmy Carter adviser. Zbig is lying through his teeth, Tehran's population is not 7 million as he emphasizes twice in the interview, Tehran's population is close to 11 million. He is very cunning and repeats fallacies peppered with the obvious such as: "Tehran is not all of Iran". The man is a cheerleader for the Ayatollahs. He is subscriber of the philosophy that repeating a lie will make it the truth. What is he trying to prove? He also says there is no picture he has seen from anywhere outside of large cities, this is because he does not want to see them. There have been brutal crackdown in every corner of Iran, the rural villagers are some of the biggest opponents of the Ayatollahs and they dream the regime is toppled. He also is putting Ebrahim Yazdi on a pedestal as he claims Yazdi is trying to reach out to the USA, it is because Ebrahim Yazdi has been an operative of Jimmy Carter's CIA for many years since before the revolution. Zbigniew Brzezinski is Shameful liar, sworn enemy of justice, peace and democracy.

DK,

Its not often I find myself in agreement with positions you take on this board. But, on this one, you hit the nail on the head.

As you pointed out as "Architect of the Islamic Green Belt", he continues working/pushing his theory, and this is just another step for him.I guess you can't fault the man for being persistent, although wrong.
