Brilliant
by Big Boy on Tue Jun 02, 2009 12:03 PM PDTAbsolutely brilliant that the system is evolving and maturing before our eyes. The young Iranians who are taking the future into their own hands should be applauded!
As for the cynics, grab a big bag of popcorn, stand on the sidelines and watch Iran move forward (with or without you). Sure, it's not perfect and there is work to be done, but my goodness Iran has come such a long way. Closes thing to a democracy in all of the middle east and it will continue to improve.
Bravo to the vibrant youth of Iran!
Vulgarity joon,
by sima on Tue Jun 02, 2009 11:20 AM PDTmoosh bokhoreh shoma ro with your bright-eyed and bushy-tailed faith in US democracy. It certainly deserves all the love and support it can get from people like you. Saddam? He actually ended up having killed and maimed and displaced a small fraction of what American democracy has accomplished in Iraq.
And, oh, I live in the US too and like all true American citizens every time I hear the star spangled banner it makes me want to go bomb Afghanistan. (Have you heard about the millions of refugees in Pakistan in just the last couple of days? We're not even at war with them. Isn't that great?)
What a nerve!

We don't know where you live! please clarify!
IRI elecshows are unique in nature and can only be similar to the government orchestrated elections in Cuba and the ones in Iraq when Saddam was in power!
Alam shangeh
by sima on Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:16 AM PDTNose jobs, french manicures, and that seemingly endlessly fascinating image of a "veiled" woman with a cell phone... Boy, I'm totally sold. Add to it a sound track that can't even remotely be called music (the 127 aberration notwithstanding) and I have every hope for the future.
Don't you remember this all happened before in 2005? Every four years we have a alam shangeh entekhabati and we call it democracy. Not much different from here so it must be a real democracy.
