How the world could help Iran now
by Mehdi on Tue Jun 16, 2009 11:49 AM PDTI think Obama should immediately remove sanctions against Iran! That is the best way the Iranian people will be helped. That would give great support to those who want change in Iran. It will make their case very valid. Once the perceived threat of war is gone, the regime will have no leg to stand on for its persecutions and oppressions.
Obama should also immediately ask for talks for the purpose of resolving animosity between Iran and US. These two actions will be a very effective blow to stupidity and ignorance and will remove the sources of oppression from the position of power.
CLUELESS
by hg (not verified) on Tue Jun 16, 2009 07:38 AM PDTSO WHAT DO YOU WANT THEM TO DO SIT HOME AND DO NOTHING??? THIS IS HOW THINGS GET STARTED, POWER STRUGGLE WITH IN THE REGIME AND WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT THE DEMONSTRATION IS GOING TO HEAD A DIFFERENT DIRECTION , THAT NOT EVEN MOUSAVI WILL BE ABLE TO CONTROL. PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF 30 YEARS OF OPPRESSION.
BE PATIENT , HOPE AND PRAY THAT THESE DEMONSTRATIONS WILL CONTINUE. IF I WERE YOU I WOULD GO TO IRAN AND JOIN YOUR FELLOW COUNTRYMAN.
Hadi Khorsandi's verdict on the recent s-election
by Shazde Asdola Mirza on Mon Jun 15, 2009 06:38 PM PDTبگو رأیم کجا رفت؟

Fred, U R pathetic
by Anonymousity (not verified) on Mon Jun 15, 2009 02:39 PM PDTFred, your constant and continual demonization of Roger Cohen ("Clueless Roger") is ludicrous and tedious. You are a true champion of nit-picking and minutiae. Why don't you look at the entirety of his reports and columns and then you might see that he is on the side of Iran, its people and its future democracy.
Thank you Mr. Cohen,
by Damon Jaan (not verified) on Mon Jun 15, 2009 12:24 PM PDTfor visiting my Mother's country, I hope you were treated well specifically since your last name precedes you. its not Kohan its Cohen... Thanks for the honest reporting, the problem is that there are many grievances against the Islamic Republic yet few solutions, many do not see this as an invitation to question the powerful such as Rafsanjani ( who is a billionaire by most Iranian estimates, and supposedly was an arms dealer during the Iran-Iraq war) not that there is anything wrong with that. Nor do they see it as their ability to stand up and say F U to the oppressor, for now they have the guns, the logistics, the power... How would they feel if the tables had turned? Would they still be so ruthless in their killing? or show mercy? I pray for peace, I pray that the powerful show mercy..
The clueless Roger
by Fred on Mon Jun 15, 2009 11:01 AM PDTThe clueless says:
“Hopes of democracy in Iran, greater freedom in Iran, seemingly dashed”
The clueless ain’t getting it. Notwithstanding what NIAC lobby has filled the clueless with, the Islamist republic is a tyranny. Speaking of democracy and greater freedom in the Islamist republic, as the clueless does, only goes to prove the degree of his cluelessness.
The power struggler is between Rafsanjani and Khamenei and people are paying the price for a fight which has no percentage for them.
