Shahr e Hert

What is the origin of "Shahr e Hert"? Does it actually exist?
100 Afarin Mehrnaz Shahabi!

disappointed, brighten up!

Don't beat us too harshly! The other side of the coin is a unique culture that has shown that degree of tolerance to difference and allowed diversity and 'disorder'. As a matter of fact, we as a nation are still very tolerant to diversity. Middle East region too, remember, has been the site if coexistence of religions and cultures historically; the modern day pogroms and holocausts have all taken place by those countries who treat the rest of the world as 'inferior' and insist on 'changing' other cultures to their 'civilised' and 'better' ways. Cheer up and let us take pride in good aspects of our culture and history so that we can move on ...

This is very telling!

I heard about Shahr-e-hert all my life but never new what it meant until now. Thank you, btw!

This is a very interesting clarification. I always thought this word was referring to a negative place. Now I see that it was a peaceful city. Apparently tolerance, freedom, and having an open mind are so frowned upon in our culture that we use the name of this ancient tolerant city in our language to describe something to be detested.

There enlies the sad root of our many social problems.

MEHRNAZ SHAHABI

My own take is

For clarity, I add my own take on that piece from the iranjewish.com!

when Iranian Partian captured Palestine, they treated the subject with
fairness and allowed diversity of culture and religion!  It means a city
where 'chaos' (not imposed order) rules, it allows for potentials and
possibilities and the creativity that ensues from absence of order!!! Therefore, according to this (I did not know it before), yes, it does

exist, it is near Semnan!!!
