to Parham: read the news and think and don't simplify
by tabriz balasi (not verified) on Sat May 30, 2009 09:46 AM PDTI know that you haven't been following the news inside Iran for a long time. unfortuantely your ideas don't match with reality. he is not "president gorazeh". with any standard he is very presidential. i won't discuss anything in detail here because this is not the time and place, i will just finish with this: i will vote for him from the US.
Semantics!
by Big Boy on Sat May 30, 2009 09:44 AM PDTParham, I think there is more at stake here than: he said "injoori beshe" vs. I want to do this. I feel that the trees are blocking your view of the forrest.
War and the utter destruction of Iran looms on the horizon if the incumbent is reelected. If that is less of a concern for you compared with Mousavi's choice of words, I think your priorities are misplaced.
At least you didn't say Mousavi isn't wearing a tie, so nobody should vote for him.
I wish him success (to Big Boy)
by Anonym7 (not verified) on Sat May 30, 2009 09:19 AM PDTThe best option is change 'within the context of the Iranian political system' as you put it. ... and he might very well be one of the best within the system to implement that.
Note
by Parham on Sat May 30, 2009 09:08 AM PDTHe will never say "I want to do this, and this is the plan, these are the steps to take..." etc.
He says "bayad injoori beshe, bayad oonjoori beshe"...
And never mind the "jange khale zanaki" with Ahmadinejad et al, which has become one of the main pillars of our culture.
One more "presidente ghoraze" for our country. What a shame, WHAT a shame. I'll go hide...
It Matters!
by Big Boy on Sat May 30, 2009 08:53 AM PDTThis election really matters. I hope Iranians will stop being cynical of every thing and realize that the destiny of Iran hangs in the balance. Don't vote and watch Ahmadinejad take control for another four years which will be a disaster, OR vote for change (within the context of the Iranian political system) and pull Iran back from the brink of disaster.
Please don't be so cynical!
Yawn ...

Starts off slow but gets better
by Q on Sat May 30, 2009 01:51 AM PDThe starts off distant, boring and uninspiring, but at the same time it shows him as honest and unscripted. He wastes no time taking shots at Ahmadinejad. In second video at 8:45 he hits Ahmadinejad hard. By the end, he's clearly excited and passionate.
Stories about Khomeini were good, but probably not enough for the religious voters. Ahmadinejad can take advantage of this gap and really dive into religion and patriotism. Those things always make voters forget about the economy.
He will have a tough time regardless.
