Americans for a Democratic Republic in Iran.

Ms. Saberi is awesome.  God bless her and God bless America.

The freedom of Ms. Saberi, an American citizen shows the truth about Iran.

America is the best.

And no one can mess with the best.

she had a secret documet

by mohsenian (not verified) on

This is a news of todays BBC (Farsi):

May be she was a litle guilty? Her laywer told:

It is nice that she is free. But we should not forget other Iranian (women and men) in Ewin, who does not have american passport and have to stay in Ewin.

To Haaji finder,

by Bavafa on

Perhaps you didn't read what I commented or you need some one to translate it for you. I never claimed, nor insinuated any guilt or lack of it since I don't know the details of her case unlike many on this forum.

Now whether "my" mullah are weak or not weak, that is a whole different argument which I am not going to have it with you, since you don't read so well.

Mehrdad

P.S. Wish you the best in finding your Haaji

Haaji and like defenders of IRI....

by Qui'est (not verified) on

Mohseni Ejei that is claiming that she still is quilty, is a master bast*** of IRI. He is the one who convicted most of the students and likes of Karbaschi during the khatami period. His claims have no value except saying that iranian lives have no value when it comes to protecting interests of IRI leaders.

While we can believe what her lawyer had said that she had copied a document while acting as a translator, that does not consititute being a spy.

Oldtimer: in US journalists are immune to prosecution to a very large extent. How do you think they publish all those reports and books containing non-public material (as in daily NYT). If you are comparing Saberi to US journalists, she would be totally immune under US laws as a journalist. And under IRI laws, who knows since IRI does not have well-codified laws: one can insult a mulla and end up in jail for a long time. They way it works in IRI is that first one is convicted, then a reason is found. If one accusation does not stick, another is found; such as she bought wine, she had no license, and she had a document that she was not supposed to have. And if nothing is found, an accusation that would make it impossible for her to defend herself such as spying. We have seen this movie before many times: zahra kazemi, haleh esfandiari, and likes.

Well if she wasn't that innocent as you claim, why was she let out after all?

Admit it that it proves how weak and vulnerable your mullahs are to America's pressure and how eaily they can back down and lose face with the whole world.

She is lucky she did not get caught in the USA

by Oldtimer (not verified) on

Let's be honest about this. She was caught posessing a secret, sensitive government document which she had stolen and she had travelled to Israel. Here , in the Land of the Free , if a dual citizen is caught stealing a secret document , and she has travelled to Afganistan, or Iran before, there is no way she would get off as easy as Roxana did.

Harliners don't wanna lose power, were behind the arrest!

by gol-dust on

This is what you get when bunch of idiots coming from the mountains to Tehran for the first time get control over the government! It is all about holding on to power and mighty dollar! Hardliners are even worse than Ahmadinejad and Khamenei!

She was being used as a pawn just to convey a message that they are not going to be ready for negotiations! Negotiating with Iran would weaken the Mullahs! As long as they stay in the caves they would have total control over the people.

How they ruined the revolution and the beautiful country! Idiots! DAHANESHONO!

Icia (not verified)

Saberi's release will not serve to pave the way for a closer tie between Obama's administration and the terrorist regime in Iran. As Obama said in his Nowrooz message, the Islamic Republic must first stop terror. Do You really belive that there will be a day when the terrorist regime in Iran stop terrorism and stop torturing , raping, and stoning the Iranians ? I do not believe so. The terrorist Islamic Republic thrives on Islamic International terrorism and killing the opponents of the regime in Iran.

IRI Kangaroo Courts

by Lawyer (not verified) on

If Ms. Saberi as a Japanese – Iranian had been convicted of the same crime of spying/treason for IRI in the US federal courts she would have received a mandatory life sentence if the jury did not recommend a death sentence. The appeals proceedings would have taken forever & no hunger strikes of her would have been noticed. The bottom line is that IRI is more worried about its own fate than that of Roxanne!!

She served her purpose dutifully

by Farah Rusta on

The whole circus around Saberi, from her arrest, through to her jail sentence, and finally to her release served to pave the way for a closer tie between Obama's administration and the Islamic regime. Well done Ms Saberi. Your job is done. Now everyone is a winner except the people of Iran.

Sadly, Delara Darabi had no strong backing as you had nor was she suspected of being a spy.

Not to rain on her parade...

But, the relief I feel would have felt much sweeter had she been treated like other political prisoners are; if she had been released with bruises and malnutrition.....her two week hunger strike doesn't really show, does it? I'm sorry, I know it sounds heartless, but as much as I try---I can't feel excited about her release when I know others have suffered a much more terrible fate than hers whose voices will never be heard and whose causes will never be championed for.

Islamic Mercy???

by Behzadnia (not verified) on

How about “Islamic Mercy” for other political prisoners whom nobody even knows their names or their crimes?? What if she was not half American?? Would she then have been treated the same way?? She is now going to turn a celebrity for spending only 4 months in prison with special treatment & will never be asked about other female political prisoners who have been spending and/or will spend years & years for serious political crimes!! such as simply criticizing Khamenie. Go figure.
