They seem to have been inspired by Samson and Delilah

Check out Victore Mature as Samson with his headband and costume looks like those of Joseph.

And Heddy Lamarr for Zoleikha

Have you noticed in all these biblical films the Woman is a Real Bitch before Repenting or converting to Christianity, Judaism or Islam ?

I LOVE THIS ! ... ;0)

Thanks Ebi Jan for sharing this gem

I'm an Absolute Fan of Sword and Sandals films. They call them "Péplum" In France and Italy. They were really a popular gendre in the 50's and 60's even if they were corny with their cardboard sets they are always Fun to watch. I'm sure Ed Wood could have made one if he had more money ;0)

I virtually believed that Moses had parted the Red Sea when I first watched the Ten Commandments with Heston and Yul Brynner ;0)

My Grandma was very religious and used to say it is Kofr for actors to play prophets when they go around and have orgies on the sets but when I convinced her to go and see it she told me that God will forgive ALL the Actors for this Beautioful Tribute to God's Prophet ...

My Dad and I had a good laugh each time we would see a Re Run of the Ten Commandmants on TV.

But I just Love these corny movies. You actually learn alot from them as entertainments. No Wonder Spielberg and Lucas and even Scorcese were influenced by Cecile B. De Milles Films ...
