Night Prayer Into the

by Stan Bennett on

Night Prayer

Into the cold night where you are,

Cry out like an Iranian.

"Allah-ho-Akbar!" - God is Great!

Even if you do not believe,

Make a prayer.

Do not be silent - silence is death.

Even the stones cry out.

God, give them strength.

God, give them freedom.

God, give them justice.

God, grant them peace.

The "them" is "us".

We are One.

Allah-ho-Akbar!

Stan Bennett (the inspiration for this poem came from watching the videos of people in Tehran at night calling out Allah-ho-Akbar! for freedom)

What a difference!

by Setareh Cheshmakzan on

What a difference between this brave, intelligent, thoughtful and articulate woman, aspiring and fighting for change, and the ravings of warmongers and hate merchants we hear on this website.  Would not airtight sanctions debilitate her and diminish her resources to fight and to speak out so courageously?

More power to women

by mahmoudg on

It makes you ponder whey every religion in their history have tried to keep women under wraps.  There was a reason, because women throughout history have shown they are better equipped than men to deal with life's every day challenges.  Women not only will liberate Iran, but they will also be instrumental and lead in reconstructing it.

Here you have a leader for your green movement

by OmidKarimi on

Forget Karorubi and Moussavi. Make her president. I bet she and her fellow students  have more education, clear thoughts and ideas about where she wants to lead the nation than the entire majlis, IRI and Moussavi/karroubi have together.
