This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

“It was kind of disgusting,” Lucille, who is part Aboriginal, said in a phone interview after admitting that she is frightened of being discovered telling folks in the “lower 48” about life near the North Pole.

Then, almost with a sigh, she added, “But that’s just Alaska.”

Racial and ethnic slurs may be “just Alaska” and, clearly, they are common, everyday chatter for Palin.

This guy was running for the freaking Presidency of the United States of America and he sat in a church for 20 YEARS and heard numerous anti-America sermons from a RACIST priest and he did not abandon the hate-spewing church!

If Hilary Clinton or Mitt Romney had had these sorts of shady associations, I WOULD WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT as I go into the voting booth, not because I'm a racist, but because it reflects on the poor judgement of the man or woman running for higher office! 

Bill Ayers, the world famous terrorist, bombed buildings and killed people, and Obama was one of his associates (and he says he was totally unaware of the terrorist's past???).

How freaking convinient! 

Are we not to ask a guy who's running for the freaking PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA why he cohorted with a known terrorist who bombed building and killed people? Are we not to consider that fact as we consider voting for him to the HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND?

Palin is one of the most clueless and unqualified politicians in America today. Her choice spoke more about McCain's poor judgment than anything.

I would be shocked if she could find Iran on a map. Even more shocked if she knew the difference of Iran and Iraq or Afghanistan for that matter.

If she is ever made president policy will be set by her handlers and "advisers". Huh? When I think of it; won't be much different than any other administration.

I know all about the symbolism and importance of the shiro-khorsid on our flag -- and I hope it returns one day. But it's your version of shiro-khorshid that is suspect -- it is the one used by the Mujahedin, and not the version that was used in Iran for much of the 20th century.

Pedro, I've lived in America since 1977, and I don't even know what that has to do with anything. Palin's NOT the first politician in the history of the US to have a baby, but you single her out and admonish her to go home and take care of her baby.

You may be new to America, but it's alright, you will learn after staying a few years that associating yourself with certain people just by the vurtue of their looks is not the norm there. Do not feel bad, I lived there a few years and took me 2 years to distinguish between rednecks and usual folks, hill billies and typical Americans.

Just so Yolanda knows, India is one of those countries that imports 30-40% of Iran's domestic gasoline usage. India is also a country that does enormous business with America. As such, if the US succeeds in exerting pressure on India, then it does NOT have to go to the circus at the UN security counsel. Do you hear me, Q? And if 40% of Iran's internal gasoline were suddenly cut off, there would be hell to pay by the mullahs. Now go spin your misinformation, Q. By the way, what publication do you write for?       Thank you for your long answer and post! I appreciate it! The word 'ration' makes me nervous. I experienced "ration" for 15 years, from my birth until I was 15...it was no fun at all. I hope Iranians don't have to experinece rations again....I hope there is a peaceful solution to the nuclear stand-off...

Yolanda, of course it will survive!

First of all, it's not going to happen. US Government has control only over US companies, and putting pressure on those (or foreign companies doing business with US) will only increase the market share of state-run companies in China, Russia and India.

The only real way this is possible is through a UN Security Council vote which will be very drastic and no one foresees it happening. UNSC did it to Saddam Hussein only after his invasion of Kuwait and even then, it didn't work.

Forget Gasoline, everything was embargoed from Iraq in 1990's, and 2/3 of the country's air was controlled by US and still Saddam's government carried on for 10 years and would have kept going for the foreseeable future.

Iran itself was de-facto blockaded during the Iran/Iraq war. People just went on rations, and things got expensive. The people hurt the most leading to a large immigration. In addition smugglers and black marketeers win big.

By the way, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad already tried to implement rationing, just like in the 80's, partly as preparation for a situation like this. The nuclear energy drive is also driven by this fear.

This only increases government power as it essentially owns all means of import and distribution. Both during the 80's in Iran, and the 90's in Iraq, the government became more and more authoritarian. This trend has been reversed in the years since the war, but now it is starting again with Ahmadinejad.

He did not have the political power to implement the rationing, but if there's an embargo, it will be done, no questions asked.

    If what Palin said is true that US and other countries will ban gasoline import to Iran, can Iran survive the gasoline embargo?

And count me in that 71%. What does that have to do with Palin's obvious popularity as a person? And aren't the attacks you make on Palin personal attacks, rather than attacks on her qualifications? And be honest here... nobody is as mean and nasty towards a politian as you are towards Palin just because they don't feel they are qualified for office.
