American Dream - how did you reach that conclusion?!

I neither support nor am I against Karrubi.  I respect him as someone who has courage and discipline and is fighting the injustices he perceives, to the best of his ability.  I also have the IMPRESSION that he enjoys tremendous support in Iran regardless of my like or dislike for him.  But more importantly, I asked Omid what slogans he referred to; I did not presume that I knew and so I did not comment! 

In so far as I live outside of Iran, I believe regardless of my personal views on political events and personalities, the decision about who leads and what happens in Iran, resides with those who live there and are the direct recipients and observers and actors in whatever is happening and its consequences.  However, I am aware both through friends and family in Iran and through the videos and communications we receive through the internet that Karrubi enjoys tremendous support, irrespective of what you and I may or may not like. 

So, in short, I asked a question from Omid, and made a factual comment.  I have liked and respected his comments in the past and I am interested in what he says, so I hope he will clarify.

بله. من هنوز سبزم و نه! من به این آقا یا موسوی اعتماد ندارم. از حرفهای کروبی در این ویدئو دو نکته کاملا  مشخص شده که سبز ها باید اونها رو با دقت تشخیص بدهند. اول اینکه کروبی به شعارهایی که خواسته واقعی مردم ایران بود برچسب انحرافی زده. این کاملا جایگاه کروبی رو در حمایت از جمهوری اسلامی مشخص میکنه. دوم اینکه آقا میگه مردم اعتمادشون رو از دست میدن!!! کدوم اعتماد؟ اعتماد به چی؟ این آقایون با این اظهار نظرهای فیلسوفانه اعلام میکنند که هنوز به ماهیت جمهوری اسلامی و رهبری و حتی رییس جمهور منتسب وفا دارند. و هنوز در این خیالات هستند که مردم چشمشون به پینگ پنگ رژیم ایران با دولت امریکاست. البته نمیگم که مردم به این قضیه بی توجه هستند اما این بازیهای سیاسی رو انقدر تو تاریخ ایران دیدیم که دیگه از بر شدیم. میدونیم که قدرتمدارها ( نمیگم سیاستمدار چون اینها از سیاست هم سر رشته ندارند) به هر وسیله ای آویز میشن تا به منافع خودشون که در حال حاضر نگه داشتن حکومت سراسر دروغ و جنایتشونه برسند

OmidKarimi Setareh Cheshmakzan supports Karroubi

OmidKarimi, Setareh Cheshmakzan supports Karroubi.  I am not a supporter of Karoubi.  I believe that the green movement is giving another life line to the theocracy.

That being said, Setareh is free to support who ever she wants to support.

With regards to my point of view...

I have supported Iran having a democratic republic like the U.S.A. with the social freedoms of Amsterdam for over 37 years.  It is impossible to be more secular than my point of view.

And Everything is sacred...

Please could you clarify what you mean by saying Karrubi "is completely out of touch with what people are chanting".  What chants are you referring to, Omid? 

On another point, you say "Most gatherings happened away from him".  Isn't that inevitable, regardless of the level of support for him and his 'in-touchness'?  After all, the larger the movement, the more physically impossible it would be for him to be present but in a fraction of all the gatherings!!  Like all of us mortals, he can only be in one place at any one time!

I thought improvised leadership was only for the opposition within and without the regime!

This video shows only one thing

This man is not leading the green movement. He is completely out of touch with what people are chanting in the street. I also saw this video where he leads this march, he had only a couple of hundred people behind him. Most gatherings happened away from him.
