The Iran Human Rights Activists News Agency reports that Behnoud has been executed at 5 in the morning today at Tehran's Evin Prison. According to StopChildExecutions.com Behnood had allegedly killed a boy during a street fight in Tehran when he was 17 years old. He has been in prison for the last 4 years and scheduled for execution 5 times already. All the reports had pointed to a stay of execution in his case. In his weblog, his attorney Mohammad Mostafaie wrote: "I went to the Executive office of the Tehran Criminal Court yesterday to follow up on Benood Shojai’s case. I was told by Mr. Jaberi, the clerk of the office that no date had been set for Behnood’s execution and a stay of execution is in effect. This morning I heard that Bahnood Shojai had been transferred to the isolation ward in prison. I went back to the Executive office to inquire about the case. Mr. Jaberi confirmed the execution and said that the Qisas (Islamic retaliation Law) will take place [Sunday, Oct 11]”.

Mahatma Gandhi & Forgiveness: how to recover our loss.

تندروی و خود را فقط صالح و عاقل و دانا پنداشتن رویه و روند خطرناکیست
See the following clip from frame time 6:00 and learn that IT IS LOVE & LIFE THAT IS SWEET, NOT revenge:

Nor does forgiveness and grace has anything to do with the level of education and social strata.

It's funny...
by Michael Mahyar Hojjatie on Tue Oct 13, 2009 07:05 PM PDTEarlier today I was looking at Iranian.com's archives and there is a section on The Revolution where the site's editor and others are sifting through a room full of print materials such as flyers, books, and magazines from the time before The Revolution occured calling for regime change from various groups scattered across the globe. Of course, the long and short of everything was "FREEDOM FROM TYRANNY AND OPPRESSION!" and talking about "people starving", "government wasting money on nonsense" and "corruption" all over the place.
30 years later, same exact song and dance. How ironic. Oops!

by Passing Through on Mon Oct 12, 2009 08:44 AM PDTThe darkness that descended upon our Beloved Iran after the Islamic Revolution, has permeated all facets of the Society
The mixing of Politics and Religion (Whatever That May Be), is indeed a Deadly Mix
For several hundred years, Religion (Christianity) and Government were mixed in Europe
Ultimately, The People in Europe got so Sick And Tired of this arrangement, that they established Secular Democracies
We Need To Do Exactly The Same In Our Beloved Iran
Nothing More, And Indeed, Nothing Less .....

by masoudA on Sun Oct 11, 2009 03:23 PM PDTEspecialy Kourosh Aziz. I can see why you'd think that way - Read enough posts on other threads and you may change your mind. I will not say anymore and let you decide for yourself. However - I do wish to say this: In encountering difficult issues such as Human Rights or Death Penalty - IRI Lobbyists and appologists have devised a new strategy. For example Akbar Ganji did plea for human rights in Iran - but at the same time insisted before Iran the world has to focus on countries with much worst record on human rights abuse - hence taking pressure off IRI!!!
re: death penalty vs Behnood's specific case
by IRANdokht on Sun Oct 11, 2009 01:04 PM PDTis it personal vendetta or MasoudA can't read that another commenter says the same thing as Ostad did? How can the same thing said by two different people make any difference in the way it's responded to?
Some people are against the death penalty, some narrow it down to only include the cases of juvenile offenders.
Personally, I am against all death penalty, not just juveniles and not just in some parts of the world. Don't get me wrong, there are times that I wish I could beat some rapists and child molesters to death myself, but my emotional disgust for some crimes doesn't justify going against my belief which is nobody even the government does not have the right to take away someone's life.
Behnood's case was especially devastating because of the way he was treated over and over again which amounts to cruelty and torture, and also because the sentence was carried out by the family of the victim which in turn makes them murderers. A lot of sane people would not be able to live with such burden.

by trying to make this a global issue - you are knowingly relieving pressure from IRI. Shame on those who still support the Islamic Republic - and impose their filth even under a post about execution of a child.
Who's going to be next?
by Azarin Sadegh on Sun Oct 11, 2009 03:46 AM PDTI'm totally devastated...First, it was Behnam Zare, then Delara, and now Behnood...Who's going to be next?
Behnood was executed on the international day Against the Death Penalty, so the world knows for sure that the Iranian Justice doesn't care about the internationl community's opinion and wouldn't mind to ignore the Human Rights or justice.

I am speechless...
