Caviare commie generation
by Farah Rusta on Sun Apr 04, 2010 10:11 AM PDTHer Majesty came from as awll as patronized a generation of Iranian artists, writers and intellectuals who were broadly Francophiles with mild to medium left leanings. While there is absolutely no problem with being a leftist intellectual or artist per se, it became an issue when the so called caviare commies, having tasted and enjoyed their share of the "royal caviar" in other words having being appointed to the key positions that could influence the public opinion, they worked aganist the very institution with which they had chosen to be bed fellows. Her Majesty's cousin, Mr Qotbi, was generously instrumental in shaping and executing this process. Our opportunist caviare commies were neither dedicated to their original cause, otherwise they wouldn't have jumped in bed with a "capitalist monarchical system", nor were they committed to their newly adopted "system". So when the false prophet called for the removal of the monarchy they saw that as another opportunity to and did their best to speed up the downfall.
To answer your question Ben, I would say I'd rather taste genuine American culture (even if it is sponsored by GWB) than one which a quasi-Iranian import.

by benross on Sun Apr 04, 2010 08:08 AM PDTIn France, it used to be called 'Caviar Left'. I'm not sure it's still a valid term because lots of things has changed in France since. The presidency of Sarkozy in itself is a sort of revolution for France. But I think it's a valid term.
It's very widespread in France and all around Europe. I guess it is a transformation of their aristocratic class. Lots of good things comes out of them in cultural domain. All those art festivals and public expenditure for cultural life of people in Europe generally is the work of 'Caviar Left'.
If I only had a choice between a 'Caviar Left' and, say, George Bush for political decision making, I'd picked George Bush without blinking. But would you pick George Bush for cultural activities Farah?!
May I?

Somehow I always thought that she didn't know what was happenning with savak or there was nothing she could do, if she knew. Unless, I learn more about her, i am not going to judge her or disrespect her!
What is wrong with some of you guys? if you hate her, that's fine, but why are using volgur language? That's very rude! you can always respectfully disagree!
why isn't any background about this video and the interviewer?

Mola, you're a despicable and vile pig
by Free on Sat Apr 03, 2010 09:58 PM PDTIf you had watched this documentary, you would know that Her Majesty has never even considered the idea of another man in her life. She's a regal, honorable woman, which is much more than I can say about your mother. Just like your Mullah masters, all you perverts think about is below the belt. You savages belong in Karbala, not Iran.

What is the point of this video? Who is this lady? As much as I admire Shabanoo and Aryamehr; is this mean that if we have a beautiful house with eye catching furnishing, she will come and visit us? I am very puzzeled with this posting.
We have a very lovely house with close proximity to where she lives in America, can we invite her for afternoon tea or better yet for dinner? We will be honored.

Great Shahbanou Farah
by Elisenda on Sat Apr 03, 2010 02:10 PM PDTI'm not Iranian. I watched the documentary two months ago. In my opinion Empress Farah emerges as a very clever, inteligent woman. It doesn't matter the backgrounds of Mrs. Nahid Persson. I believe she has tried to understand and approach to a person that she, Mrs. Persson, hated in the past only because was the Queen and was in power. One lesson is that is not necessary to hate someone only because she/he has a higher position. Secondly, that many things made by the Queen were totaly justified.
Shahbanou Farah shows and appears as a great Empress. Iran lost its greatest Queen has ever had.

Good movie
by John on Sat Apr 03, 2010 04:18 PM PDTThe entire movie is very interesting and I, a non-Iranian, found it extremely enlightening. I realize that Farah is a controversial figure in some circles, with people perhaps either loving or hating her, but after seeing this movie I had a very positive feeling towards her; not as a political figure, but as a woman.
